Joe Frazier vs Joe Louis

Frazier made Ali miss a ton of punches in the FOTC, and he was extremely hard to hit cleanly even when attacking . I don't know. But to me Fraziers style is all wrong for Louis ( Like Foreman was all wrong for Frazier) Frazier, an aggressive, hard to hit big, hugh left hooker against a heavyweight that probably skill wise is better, but Louis's slow feet, would prove to be a MAJOR problem for a hard punching aggressive pressure fighter like Frazier. I don't like this match -up for Louis, in my opinion he would have a better chance against a Holmes, or Holyfield. Personally If Louis don't catch Frazier cold and stop him early, I see Frazier stopping Louis cold within 10rds.

 

Louis by stoppage for mine. Frazier would be coming onto his punches and Louis can fire absolute bombs with both hands not only outside, but in close and short too. I think Louis has the smarts to make in fight adjustments in coping with Frazier's vaunted hook.

 

Very interesting that there is such a variety of choices here.
I think Joe Louis would definitely win in a rematch, but has massive trouble first time around.

 

I fancy Louis here, but he would have to weather some hairy moments because stylistically Frazier is hard work for him.
Louis learned the secret to opening up a croucher like Godoy was to uppercut him,but Frazier was a lot quicker and just plain better than Arturo,plus he had the hook ,so every time Louis threw the right uppercut he would be inviting Frazier's money punch. Both go down here especially in such a small ring, but Louis has the better arsenal and real two fisted power.so I must pick him.

 

Pretty much the worst thing that you could do against Louis was come straight at him!

 

Joe's head movement was very fast with very off rythem timing unlike a peekaboo defense. Combine that with fast footwork hes a nightmare for Louis who's used to guys that stand in front of him but offer nothing but a stationary target.
Joe Louis is the greater over all fighter but H2H I'll take Frazier all day.

Joe didn't do well or like pressure fighters. On the other hand both Joe's didn't have the best chin. I like Joe if he starts quickly. If not give me the other Joe.

As beautiful as Louis was as a fighter and his short machine gun burst combos are things of legend but his being pressured and crowded the way Marciano did is what Frazier would do making for a great fight keeping Louis on the retreat......Frazier would IMO win this fight on a decision

 

That would be an amazing fight.

I go with 50/50 because Louis was vulnerable to the left hook, Frazier would bob and weave his way to the inside and unload hellacious left hooks like machine gun fire, Louis is accurate enough to land counterpunches on Frazier, every punch in the book, right hand after right hand, uppercut etc.

That would be a slugfest and i don't give a **** who would win, i just want to see it but sadly it's not possible.

 

I was on the fence until i read thid posy. Frazir never backs up, and he had amazing head movement. Louis had surgical accuracy and a good jab but he himself admitted he didnt like being crowded. His slow feet and suspect chin makes this a real nail biter.

It would be a brutal contest at ring center. With frazier my only concern is his tendency to swell and neglecting the right hand. Louis had a good hook himself and amazing explosive power. If fraziers right eye swells and they trade hooks...
