Rating all of Matchroom and Queensburys 2019 British shows

Yeah pretty much this. Had Hughes v Davies a draw myself and Fitzgerald winning by 3. Thought Fitzgerald was gonna get robbed but thankfully despite Terry O'Connor's best efforts to cheat all night, Fitzgerald came away with the win. A shame Ali decided to start biting as I felt he was still in the fight. Thought it could have gone either way had he not done that. Eggington v Smith was a mismatch but Eggington despite being out of his league will always come to fight and did again against Smith but didn't have any power to trouble him.

Really enjoyed that card it's a solid 8.5 for me.

 

Very enjoyable night of boxing. Wasn't a big fan of the main event, but the rest of the night made up for it. Farrell/Bowes was a good little fight on facebook, Hughes/Davies Jr may not have seemed like the best of fights to a more casual observer, but it seems everyone on here saw it as i did, a very engaging and entertaining fight from start to finish. Absolutely untold amounts of respect for Joe Hughes btw. What he has achieved with 1 working arm is beyond incredible.
Fowler/Fitzgerald lived up to the hype and then some. Extremely entertaining fight, that had plenty of skill involved as well. And an ending that not only united Britain, but one where the right man won, and everyone was satisfied. Didn't really rate the main event, but it was a perfect opponent to introduce Smith to the sky audience.

7/10, would have given it an 8/9 if main event was better, but still one of the more enjoyable nights for a long time.

Hopefully we start seeing more prospect v prospect match-ups like Saturday

 

Look at the fall out from this event compared to the Leicester one. It’s clear which one was better. Just admit it.

 

Everytime I've seen Gashi he's let his hands go and gone for it. so it was very surprising to see him just not want to take any risks. This was Hearns banker for a good fight on the bill, I highly doubt he'll be inviting him back to the UK ever again

 

That was another pony card last night only giving credit for the Dubios fight - the rest was awful.

2/10 for me and that was because of Lartey giving it a go

 

I’d give it slightly higher than that because of the main event. 4.5 at a push because while the fight between Richards and Langford was boring, as a boxing fan I was loving Lerrone’s work.

 

Warrington v Galahad

A 4/10 for me. Was going to give it a 3.5 but edged up slightly.

Metcalf v Langford was shite until the finish.

Barrett v Woodstock - a brilliant performance from Barrett, he’s a brilliant boxer but that lack of power just means he’s constantly going to be in these 12 round pillow fights.

Warrington vs Galahad is probably the worst world title fight of the year so far?

 

Matchrooms best show of the year was the Joshua -Ruiz Jr show, every fight was good. No surprise it's an American show that really delivered, that's Eddie's main priority now it seems unfortunately.

 

The next gen card from Friday can have a 5.5/6.

Exceeded all expectations and gave us 3 competitive fights. Can’t remember any next gen card being that good to be honest.
