Kovalev's victory in the rematch against Alvarez is the latest example of a fighter coming back after a knockout loss and winning a decision. In some cases when a fighter decisively wins the first fight he generally wins the rematch.

Leonard coming back after Duran 1. That was one of my fave comebacks. Shows how beast humans can be.

Leonard employed a safety first strategy until Duran infamously uttered the words f**k it.

Alvarado beat Rios after being stopped. Not many thought he could win most felt he would get stopped again

Interesting example considering the result of their third fight.

That makes me think of the Paul Williams/Sergio Martinez rematch.

I didn't mention that one because I don't think there was a decisive winner. I think Quintana vs Williams 1 was a more clear victory for Quintana.

Cotto getting back at margarito. Even though the match was starting to go the way of the first fight and it was really pacs devastation of Tony’s face bones that really got Cotto the win. I liked how Cotto just stood and glared at a beaten up margarito from across the ring. However, if it was up to Tony he probably woulda kept fighting and most likely once again would’ve broken cotto down into a bloody useless mass. It was still good and I was happy for cotto. And I loved the deadpan glare across the ring after the stoppage.

    Lennox Lewis did it twice.
But many have done it in the past as a rematch doesn't always give the same result.

Castillo v Corrales; but in the rematch Castillo missed weight big time, so a blight on the win.

Still one of my favorite Face Off interviews. When Cotto busts out the ipad like "bout to go to town on this cheater". Makes me crack up.
