With all due respect to Mike, I think fury would beat him. Far too much size discrepancy when you take into account of how skilled fury is too.

It’s a massive question mark since Prime Iron Mike never fought anyone elite.

But I think the unique combination of speed, power, explosiveness and sheer strength would have Fury flattened.

Again massive question mark when you compare prime Tyson to anyone H2H. I just rate that version of Tyson incredibly highly purely on the eye test.

If you can tag Fury you can hurt him as Wilder, Steve Cunningham and some other journeymen demonstrated it's just most of TF's opponents couldn't figure him out, Lennox Lewis in his prime would figure Fury out and would find the target with that right hand, interesting fight but it's ultimately Fury's lack of power and slightly shaky chin that make me think Lennox wins.

My feelings on the subject exactly. It's such a shame that we never got to see it and what happened subsequently as he was such an incredible and rare talent and incredibly entertaining with it, if you could create a boxer, Weird Science style, you'd create a prime Iron Mike.

For me, a prime Mike Tyson is too ruthless for Fury, take nothing away from Fury though, he's arguably the best heavyweight in the World right now and I've never seen anyone that size move like him.

Some of these comments are hilarious. Lewis obviously by stoppage.

    Wow...

Lewis is the superior fighter and beats Fury. A stoppage wouldn't be a surprise but a Lewis decision I'd be really confident on.

Mid rounds , Fury gets lazy and gets dropped by a huge straight right . Lewis ain't no ' windmill one hit wonder ' and finishes him off .

I think it would be more entertaining than others think Lewis, had a superior reach and Jab but Fury has better movement. The issue is Fury like to stay on the outside but to get to Lewis at some point he will have to commit to being on mid to close range which if you look at Lewis career is a very dangerous place to be. Lewis was very underrated for his ability to fight on the inside. I think its close but lewis would score a couple late knockdowns and take it.

I still consider Mike a great when I take into account he was nearly always at a huge deficit and he took care of many guys much larger than him,but for the most part, they were stiffs.

When he came up against the big skilled guy- Lewis, he was virtually no match.

I beleive fury to be possibly the only heavyweight of this current era on the level of a Lewis.

Fury is all wrong for Mike.

Stylistically though I think prime Tyson would've blasted through the much larger man in Anthony Joshua

To be clear Mike was finished by the time he fought Lewis.

    Totally finished

That's a stretch and just not true.

Mike was 16-2 or something in his last 18 fights with those two sole losses to holyfield.

He was on a 5 or six fight winning streak totally finished? Give me a break.

A little past his best yes.

It works both ways, Lewis was done too, he was getting old and literally had one more fight and retired.

You cant sit there and pretend that was an old washed up Tyson and a young fresh faced Lewis.

Lewis’ double jab would get Fury under control after around 4 or 5 rounds. He will also parry most of the pity pat jabs and start to walk him down and put the hurt on him.

Lewis by stoppage around the 10th

I see Fury being successful early doors, dodging, switching, taunting, winning early rounds, Lewis eventually landing big around round 7 and not letting him off the hook. Almost like the Bruno fight but with Furys antics instead of Frank's conventional tactics

I think you’re underestimating the impact of Fury’s less than stellar accuracy against Lewis. For all his defensive qualities - and they are plentiful - in even his most dominant recent performances, Fury is landing 85 (ish) punches, which wouldn’t be enough here.

Fury would play around on the ropes and make Lewis look bad at times but there simply wouldn’t be enough coming back to deter him. Lennox gained a reputation as a deeply cautious boxer, but he would dispense with that when he had to, particularly if he gaged that the opponent didn’t have the one-punch power to knock him out.

Furys feinting would be a huge problem for Lennox.
Given Bruno and Mercer both outjabbed Lennox, and Vitalis awkward jittery style threw Lennox off, I think if Lennox tried to box safety first, and establish his jab, he may well get beaten.
However I think after a difficult opening round or 2, he would go right after Fury, and flatten him.

However when Lennox’s jab wasn’t setting things up, he didn’t perform well, and Fury is no Michael Grant so it would be Lewis inside 5 or Fury by decision imo.
I’d lean towards Lennox inside 5.
