The best version of Whyte we've ever seen was in the Chisora rematch. Cool, calm, composed. In great shape. Power in the left and the right. Patience, excellent defense. Good stamina over 11 rounds
I wouldn’t worry about it. Certainly wouldn’t let it ‘annoy you so much’. Every big name fighter on here has detractors. It’s just anonymous posters on the internet - some rate Whyte, some don’t; same with every fighter. Seems like a total waste of energy to note which anonymous boxing forum posters think Whyte might lose and/or have been wrong about Whyte before.
Thats a good a response... I can respect that. I'll take it onboard and learn to live with unresolved annoyance.
Excellent defence?? He got hit with the same right hand about 4 or 5 times in a row at one point. He was alot calmer and was definatley waiting till later in the fight when Chisora was gasses, but his defence was far from excellent.
It was much improved for sure Excellent is slightly over doing it No doubt Whyte is the most improved top ten HW in the last 3 years though
He was indeed, but myself and I think a lot of the general forum were surprised at that. Pretty sure I've seen a video of him getting smoked by Hunter in the amateurs funnily enough
He was losing that fight until Del was forced into pressing even more due to dubious point deductions. I don't think he would have got him out of there if that hadn't happened.
I agree it was definitely no coincidence that Chisora started to open up and get reckless right after that (2nd?) points deduction. Still, it was a beautifully timed shot from Whyte. Takes some power to bingo Chisora.
Lets not forget this is Whyte 3rd or 4th PPV...WHY??????? what has he done to merit ONE ppv??? World champ?NO Exciting to watch ?NO Huge fanbase??NO I dont get it.....on top of which the WBC have zero intention of letting him fight for the belt....he has been number 1 contender for 600 days and according do Don Bob Arum it might as well be another 6000
He's been in some pretty good fights in fairness. AJ, Chisora X2 and the Parker fights were all pretty enjoyable. He's had some stinkers as well, mind. I'm not justifying him being PPV by the way, he shouldn't be at all.
He has had some entertaining fights (and that absolute stinker with Helenius) but yeah not a chance he should be PPV. It’s mad because I don’t expect him to sell out the arena never mind do buys on top of that!
It's a weird one in that regard. That card IMO is a main event away from probably being OK as PPV. Only thing I can assume is that Chisora and Whyte just get routinely overpaid all the time now.
