Make your mind up Freddie....... “[Anthony] Joshua, I like a lot, he’s my favourite heavyweight,” he said. “He was very modest when I met him. I like him a lot. He’s the best heavyweight in the world ahead of Wilder and Fury."
I don't see Ruiz losing either, it's not like the guy is pushing 40 with some previous stoppage losses on his sheet for Joshua to take hope from or that he lost by a lucky shot. Ruiz will go in there super confident and probably in better condition (which wouldn't be hard). It won't take much from Ruiz to make Joshua panic and whatever game plan he has to go out the window.
The rematch will be a huge test for AJ and im not sure he can pull it off. Stylistically Joshua himself said he finds shorter guys tougher to face. The thing is even if Joshua try’s to play it safe and win a decision there is more chance of Joshua gassing in the fight than Ruiz. Ruiz was non stop for 12 rounds vs Parker, he really is a nightmare opponent for AJ.
At the minute he would pick any of the top heavyweights to beat any of the other to worm his way into a corner. He would be all like - ‘Oh whyte i think would probably KO fury. That left hook is on par with deontays, and look what it done to tyson.’ He’s not a nice guy and the Ben Davidson comments are arrogance and resentment at not being the no.1 man in the corner
I would favour Joshua more if not for the fact Ruiz did all his damage off the back of taking ferocious shots from Joshua. Joshua landed some tremendous clean shots and other than the knockdown Ruiz came back firing and landing. With that style the most important thing for Joshua is a referee like the one in the Parker fight that is seeking the spotlight. He'll need those multiple breaks per round as Ruiz is clearly in better cardio shape.
Roach wrong more than right when it comes to predicting fights. Dwyer is far more accurate. A broken clock is right twice a day doe
Ruiz better have a "Rematch Clause" in this rematch especially if the rematch is in the U.K. cuz the Frankenroids Monster will be on the Juice like Povetkin smashing opponents in Russia then looking used up and drained when he fought Joshua in the U.K., was it the lack of Juice?? Why did Joshua ask his corner "Why am I feeling like this??" and "I feel Weak!" and "What did he hit me with??"... Lack of U.K. Juice due to strict Roids Tests in the USA?
Joshua is not gonna learn how to master fighting on the back foot in a few months. Ruiz is gonna back his ass up even more in the rematch.
I give it 50/50 that Joshua makes it out of the 3rd round unless it's in the U.K. then the biased referee will be breaking up the action every time Ruiz starts landing hooks on Joshua big head!!
