Can a brilliant strategy beat any fighter, no matter what?

The most famous examples I can think of is Louis vs Schmeling 1, Pep vs Saddler 2 and Foreman vs Ali.

Also no, strategy can only make up for so much of a gap in ability before it's too much. "Everybody has a plan until they get hit".

Fedor vs Cro Cop was a great shout out.

Nobody really thinks Fedor would have beaten Cro Cop in a straight kickboxing match. But Fedor's faking the take down kept resetting the Croat and forced his striking game into a corner.

    Montell Griffin-RJJ 1

Lewis- McCall 1 (Steward noted that Lewis dropped his guard when he loaded up to punch and he trained McCall to exploit this with an over right hand, and it worked a treat)

The superior fighter righted these results in the return it must be noted.

    Mayorga vs Forrest
Forrest was considered the best welterweight in the world going into that first bout with Mayorga.... And to be honest, It still boggles my mind on how mayorga was able to beat him twice.

Louis vs Schmeling is the best example of this to me, tied with The Rumble in the Jungle.

Schmeling found a technical problem in Louis's game and exploited it perfectly

Although Marvin Johnson wasn't an 'unstoppable' fighter and he and Eddie Mustafa were on a par with each other, the plan devised for Eddie (countering Johnson's southpaw jab with a left hook to the body) reaped dividends and was brilliant.

Naz was never unstoppable. He was flawed but well matched. Barrera simply exposed his flaws

McCall was a basket case and he didn't have Steward in the rematch.

What do you mean by ability?
