I don't understand why anyone is suprised.

He's made it known through many interviews that he doesn't the confidence to be a true champion.

He's gone on record and told his fans that he didn't believe he had enough experience to fight Wilder until the time was right. He's made it known publicly that he has absolutely no confidence fighting outside the uk where he feels safe.

Yet here we are with a lot of braindead boxing fans who are now surprised and in disbelief that he would feel relieved at losing his belts, along with comments stating he'd prefer to fight easier opposition.

Joshua fanboys have always held more belief in him, then he has ever had in himself.

    Champions thrive on pressure

    Case example: Tyson Fury

Hell even Wilder, the worst technical boxer of the past decades can still bring the fight in a pressure cooker.

Didn't Fury fold up like an old suit when faced with a motivated Wlad rematch?

I agree if aj ever fights wilder or fury he will be mentally beat by the press conferences both of them would get into his head.:deal:
He's honestly one of the most mentally weak boxers ive seen in quite awhile.

hahahaha, fury? the one who couldnt handle the presure of being a champion not even on single year? the one adict to cocaine in order to be able to handle his ****? hahaha, cant stop laughing, dude...

-Wladimir, 10 years unbeaten champion, in the meantime he gets a phD, because, well, why not? isnt it? 10 years in a row as the HW champion of the world is izi pizi, he needed challenges an all that, you know?.

-Floyd mayweather, bulletproof mindset, his whole life unbeaten with a complete world waiting for him to fail.

-Many pacquiao, a whole nation on his shoulders. Not a big deal, isnt it?

-Andre ward, he plays mindtricks into mindtricks so that he can play mindtricks while playing mindtricks....

Dude, those are mentally STRONG fighters. Mr cocaine fury is weak as a little baby girl compared to any of them.

Tyson's personal issues outside of boxing do not equate to him when it comes to boxing

Fury has never mentally been weak inside a ring, he lives for the fight.

This means that Mike Tyson or Vitaly Klitschko would give AJ a panic attack at a staredown lol
    AJ is mentally fragile

The **** would begin leaking down beneath his feet if he had a face off with Mike Tyson.

This is the same roid head that wanted bodyguards to keep Deontay Wilder from going any where near him!

You're right about the gold medal he was gifted in 2012!

I'll support any British boxer in the Olympics but was disgusted when the Cuban Savon boxed Joshua's head off in his first bout & was blatantly robbed!

Eddie Hearn is the type of guy who loves listening to his own voice so much he will always end up giving inside information up by accident and then do another weeks of interviews trying backtrack only to give up more information.

And if he couldn’t handle the pressure before, doesn’t that make him want to lose the rematch rather than invite it all again?

Joshua must have incredible technical ability to achieve what he has despite being hamstrung by cowardice, a paper mache jaw and such glaring mental fragility. :drooling:

I do believe pressure played a significant role in the result of the first fight but if Joshua can prepare better tactically and work on maintaining composure he has the ingredients to actually dominate Andy Ruiz. The weaknesses exposed by Ruiz could prove the making of AJ if he learns from the experience. Judging by his words and actions since, I have faith we will see an improved and triumphant Anthony Joshua, ready for Wilder and then Fury in 2020.
