That was my reaction too, but if he truly claimed that he wanted to get rounds before the fight, then it's fine. Also, for the record, I don't think this was a step up from his past competition. Personally, I don't really see what all the fuss is about in regards to Sirenko as he hasn't fought anyone decent at all yet. Maybe he's good, but he'll need to beat someone with a pulse before I take interest.
who cares what round such a body knocks out such a body in comparison. You guys think too much. Boxing just doesnt work like that, Im sure you all know that anyway.
who cares, round stoppage comparison is meaningless. I have Sirenko being DEFINITELY a better prospect than all three of those
Good for you. I don't think so. Milas and Romanov both beating Sirenko comfortably. Much better fighters overall.
Ok everyone has different opinions but I think Romanov is good but far too small for a HW and is getting old, Milas is still green. Sirenko has the highest ceiling for me, I think he may have deliberately wanted to get the rounds in versus Bakhtov.
Milas and Sirenko are both very, very young so it's hard to say where they go from here. Milas looked very good in his recent fights and he already fought some good names like Johnson or Pianeta who are both decent level guys and not easy to blast out. He dominated both fights and was even able to stop Johnson who went the distance with Ruiz Jr, Dubois, Gorman and Hrgovic afterwards. So i think we can say for sure that Milas is a LEGIT prospect. I would rate him slightly above Sirenko and i think he could beat him if they fight next weekend. But as i wrote before: Both are very young so it's hard to say where they are in 1 or 2 or 3 years from now. Sirenko definitely has the same amout of potential. I agree on Romanov. He's older. Not old but older. He turns 34 next month but to be fair he's a HW and 34 is not old for an HW especially for a guy like Romanov who didn't take a lot of damage throughout his amateur and pro career. So he should be fine for at least 3-4 years to reach and confirm his prime. He's very good imo. Very similar to Povetkin i think. The question is if he is able to get bigger fights outside Russia or he's gonna stay there and fighting bums till he's 38 or 39. So probably not quite sure if he makes it to the big stage but he has potential although he's small.
I watched a little of the 4th, that the announcer said was a bad round for Sirenko (it wasn't great) and the last one. This content is protected
I watched the full fight and Bakhtov was taking a lot of accumulated damage from the early rounds, round after round + quite bad cut. I think the stoppage took that into account. At no time did Sirenko look to be under much pressure.
From my watch-list on Boxrec. I missed "my". You can log in at their website and then add specific boxers to watch: http://boxrec.com/en/watchlist
I just don't see "it" with this kid. I'll be astonished if he even becomes a contender at some point. I just see average at best across the board. I think Romanov would spark him in a New York minute.
Yes, he actually wrote it on his blog. "I'm sure he will be an excellent opponent that will give me a lot of experience and I hope he will give me some rounds" - Sirenko wrote here - https://ua.tribuna.com/tribuna/blog...cKmtky5elHRyUK3GFJDzQdDyBc02mrPMZiaQ7BQtFODlI
Thanks, this video has MUCH better quality! I agree with you. Sirenko finally showed he can box and not just bang out overmatched opponents. He used his jab effectively and I was surprised by his hand speed. He also paced himself well. Would love to see him against guys like Rodney Hernandez or Herve Hubeaux in the near future - tough guys who can box a little bit and should give him rounds but shouldn't be able to beat him if he is really a future contender.
At this point he is quality material for a very good professional trainer. By the way, where is Bashir?
