****img 'Ell...you'd expect him to against a novice boxer like McGregor! He'd never be able to show his face if he didn't stop that punk!
For those who follow boxing and know PM this performance was just a degraded version of prime PM, he never was a banger he never was a killer he was a brittle handed, feather fisted illusive oriented boxer But as far as the match itself and PM a representative of the dangerous nature of a well rounded boxer with decent power and skills in a match...yes Artem is considered a poor striker in the sport of MMA taken out of that element to fight in the sport that boxing evolved from?? yes PM was an embarrassment to boxing and validates MMA fans Watching BKFC the rules and the fights it causes me think that John L Sullivan and those who came before would be competitive with todays boxers?!
He landed a lucky punch and now people persistently post the video every time a boxer loses to an mma fighter .
Then why were so many boxing fans saying Paulie would win? That's what I'm trying to say, despite "knowing" this fact, most of you still said that this was a complete mismatch and that Paulie was winning this easily, and only the "dumb" mma community believed Artem had a chance.
I dare any of you MMA fans to tell me that this **** outstrips boxing for excitement, history, prominence, etc. Boxing vs. MMA? NO CONTEST. The lyrics in this video say it all: This content is protected
As somebody from a boxing background who appreciates mma and other combat sports I hate how boxing and mma fans feel so insecure they need to minimize the other sport with trash like this. Anybody could and likely has combined actual highlights of mma with mediocre boxing highlights just like the video you used uses old mediocre footage of mma against highlight knockouts etc.
Maybe insecure boxing fans who couldn't handle the thought of him losing to a mediocre mma fighter but even tho Paulie was a favorite as far as I saw most knowledgeable fans new it was far from certain
I think Paulie bought shame on himself in his actions in the build up to the fight and how he fought after all his **** talk but apart from that I don't see to many people remembering this fight at all. As for Cejudos stupid tweet I wouldn't judge the rest of the fighters based on this idiot who lately especially since winning the UFC title has taken on some kind of WWE like persona and most of his tweets are cringe worthy
That's fine you don't like MMA I can understand your reasons as we all have different tastes on what we want to watch, boxing is easily my favorite sport but I also enjoy watching other high level combat sports but mainly stand up fighting(punching, kicking, kneeing elbows etc.) and i find wrestling to be totally boring and the worst part of mma. You can add Tim Sylvia to the list of fighters packing total glass jaws, he only had the success he did because most of the best Heavyweights in that era were fighting outside of the UFC for PRIDE in japan,at Heavyweight as you know anything can happen in either sport when 1 shot can end it and I don't see how 9 seconds and 1 punch proved nothing other then what was known going in about Sylvias Jaw and Mercers power.
I was a wrestler before I boxed or grappled later on and understand the skills and moves but exciting? no! but boxing or any striking sport the excitement is there. Your observation is exactly why I think BKFC will do well moving forward....go to a wrestling or grappling tournament and their aren't many fans in comparison....boxing is sometimes the same way on smaller shows...MMA shows in a cage live are horrible to watch you can't see any of the subtle grappling mastery and the cage blocks a lot of the view when striking.....BKFC is IMO insight into what boxing was like before gloves......no doubt faster paced because of the 2 minute rounds and definitive round limit
Yeah I agree before I did some BJJ the only grappling etc I ever watched outside of MMA had been WWE but I now have a better appreciation and understanding of what's going on with the techniques and intricacies involved like I do in boxing, now I even watch some occasional high level BJJ fights/tournaments when i get a chance. There is some aspects of BKFC I love like rewarding aggression but since it's only 5 rounds I think at least the main event and biggest fights should be 3 minutes
What part of it was lucky? Mercer trained his whole life to land punches like that, threw it with the full intent of landing it that way and to a chin that’s not used to taking world class boxers punch. And won. What’s “lucky” about it?
