I hope he does. The more top guys with big names in boxing, the better the sport does. More AJ = more fan interest = me being a happy camper.

But he should never fight Fury. I feel like that will be a soul sucking bout and he will get Shang Tsung'd.

Probably Wlad before working with the Steward would have lost to Corrie in a rematch. AJ in my opinion is a favorite in a rematch with Ruiz, especially in Britain.

If this happens, he will most likely end his career. But more than anyone else, Wilder will lose, because he will miss the opportunity to get huge money.

    love that vid of AJ

he got up at 8 in the middle of the ring

    then...

"went back to the corner" and leaned on the ropes, somebody should tell him next time he needs to fight when the count is over not turn his back and go for a walk

I give him a good chance...all he needs to do is redeem himself against Ruiz

That's what I am thinking about too. However, he will need to have a good gameplan in the rematch against Ruiz.

Doubt it. Lennox got caught cold twice in fights he was winning, it happens at HW. Joshua basically got his ass whooped. Ruiz just ate him up in those exchanges, it mentally destroyed joshua. The first knockdown was just savage, if there had not been ropes aj would have went flying.

If Joshua loses the rematch it will be financial devastation for the heavyweight division. Nobody is interested watching Fury vs sub 50 opponents or Wilder vs Ortiz III

I definitely wouldnt count him out for it even tho he was throughly beat fair and square against Ruiz and looked suspect in the wlad, povetkin and takam fights, hes a hard hitting good combination puncher with great offence skills and a dynamic uppercut, his current attributes could knock out anybody potentially, his weakness is his chin is fairly suspect and almost complete lack of head movement not mention his incredibly low work rate in the Ruiz fight signals stamina issues, if you want to fight like Tyson like he started in one interview than he needs to model himself after early Tyson when he actually focused alot on not getting hit, Ruiz might be less hungry in this upcoming fight feeling on top of the world and when the mentality changes the whole ****ing fight is changed. I'm not a expert, but I refuse to bet on this fight.

AJ is the bookies odds on favourite for the rematch, so it's hardly going out on a limb picking him to win the rematch.

But I believe Ruiz wins the rematch and the reason is I didn't see anything in that first fight that was a "fluke" or "lucky".

When Lewis lost they were one punch defeats, he got caught, dropped and stopped.

Klitschko had 3 defeats earlier in his career, it took him 3 "bounce backs", so are we talking all three?

In my opinion Wladimir had serious stamina issues early in his career a fragile chin and he didn't know how to buy time, hold, give himself time to recover.

Anyway, he got caught against Sanders and never recovered, it was over inside 2 rounds. It was rather quick.

Against Brewster caught him and he never really recovered, he had zero left, he was completely spent, only went 5 rounds but once the unraveling started it was over quickly.

With AJ is was very different, he dropped Ruiz first, Ruiz was dropped heavily by a great shot, got up and walked through a right hand that looked more powerful than the left hand, he recovered quickly enough to turn it all around.

If after those two shots Ruiz was still standing and fighting back hard enough to drop Joshua.. what does AJ do to change this? All he can do it jab his way to victory, I don't see AJ knocking Ruiz out because to do tha he will have to open up with Ruiz again and he won't take that risk.

And let's be honest here, the shots that put AJ down were not absolute monster punches? Solid punches.. sure, but not shot that made you think "he isn't getting up", you expected him to get up because they didn't look that hard.

Joshua was dropped 4 times in the fight over 7 rounds, it wasn't as if he was caught with a "lucky" shot (hate that "lucky" word but you know what I mean).

AJ had the time to recover, rounds 4-5-6 but he couldnt and didn't, he looked tired, he looked confused, he looked like he ran out off ideas and didn't want to be there.

In my opinion it was a bit of a quit job.

The last couple of knockdowns wouldn't fill me with confidence to back AJ in the return, he spat out the gumshield, he tried to buy time, didn't respond like a man who wanted to fight until the end.

Ruiz didn't just beat AJ physically, he beat Joshua mentally, that will take a lot of getting over and I do not believe it all changes in 4-5 months without making huge changes and by the look and sound of it Joshua hasn't changed much.

I have been in the group that has been tough on Joshua. On an emotional level I want him to go right back at Ruiz. Stomp his ass if he can or go out on his shield. That is an example of letting my persona get in the way of sound rational thinking. It would be the smarter thing to examine what is wrong and work on it. Have a few easier fights and work on improving weaknesses in the ring. Don't go for an early rematch. Take your time and earn it. It is not like there is a rush. He is not broke and he is young. Going into a quick rematch could spell the end to his career. His confidence is damaged and would be destroyed if an early rematch results in a devastating loss via ko/tko. A rematch is 65/35 in favor of Ruiz....imo.

Most fighters would act ''classy'' in defeat especially if they got humbled in the fashion Joshua did.
