And Hurtado was one of a short list who blazed the trail for Rigo to have a pro career, strangely enough.
I would've loved to have seen Rigo strike a happy medium between what he just showed and some of his more conservative performances; it definitely couldn't have hurt his chances of getting more promotional and network support than he got. He's still cemented as a great fighter for me, but that would've made it tougher for some of the bigger names to duck him. Now, he's basically playing with house money...everyone expects he'll get shot overnight at his age, so he may as well go down swinging. If nothing else, I hope that shuts up people insinuating he was some kind of coward or protected fighter just because of one bad night (buying in to that involved selectively ignoring Rigo could go to war when he had to, like the Amagasa fight, to start with).
