Of course he can win a world title but the hardest thing might be getting the opportunity . Should have gone with Matchroom from the off.
His style is entertaining so as long as he is fighting 3 times a year, winning and entertaining, he can quickly grab peoples attention with the right level of opponent now he's with MTK. He's 31 in December, if he can get in 2 fights by the end of the year he can get himself a title shot before his 32nd birthday, I'd say he has 2 years to win a World title before he has to either move up weight or forget about it.
Looking really fast and slick in the gym. He's supposed to be out again this weekend, not sure who the opponent is yet though. Then in November he's back out in Dubai, hopefully against a more challenging opponent than the last one. I really do think he can shake the division up next year, he was well in that fight before the KO and we all know about the bad prep he had for that. I think a World Title is his within 18 months.
Can't see it, doesn't have any exposure, no one outside of hardcore boxing fans really care who he is - he's a hard sell over here, which means he'd have to fight his way to a mandatory position - to do that he needs to get the fights. Can't see a promoter paying out on the ranking fights just to get him a title shot - think his opportunity is gone now.
Since joining MTK his Instagram is on the go all day everyday, they've took him out to Dubai to get him some more exposure, MTK will raise his profile a lot in a division that's hardly brimming with popular fighters. He is probably 3 fights away from a World title shot, victory over Jay Harris would certainly go some way to getting that, which will probably be a fight made early next year.
In contrast to his brother Lee 'Paint Dry' Selby, Andrew is a very talented exciting boxther with one big problem - he has virtually zero power. He can win a world title if facing a Bepe Di Marco type champion Eh Day found for Ricky Burns but any World Champion worthy of the title walks right through him.
The wake up call he needed as the last fight was just way too easy. I still think he can be a big player in the division as nobody can match his boxing ability at that weight, he's electric, I have said he's the best in the division for 3 years and I really think he will be within 18 months. Hopefully the next fight will be another step up, a better performance and then we can get an exciting fight with Harris.
