Rainer, I'm not stating this towards you per say, I'm stating generally how I look into to things and further engage with people, all people.

I have also stated I too would choose Conn, but this pairing with Mills could have happened in the early 40s, I said nothing about after that date for the two meeting.

you are overlooking one point though, and it is a very big and valuable one - Zale... he did run Conn a good fight , which he wouldn't have had the same success against the rugged, durable, wild Mills. That is a valid indicator between the two, Conn & Mills. again Freddie's battles with the Bigmen only further reiterates that Zale would have little chance with Mills and a much easier affair with Conn, like he did.

so even though I agree with a Conn victory, I don't agree that it is an easy night for Billy.

as I stated TOP Fifgters are not miles apart, and to suggest that Conn is over the likes of a Mills or Lesnevich, is not only silly, but a blatant duck on your part, by not recognizing that the MW Zale swam with Conn.

so a Mills, Lesnevich and other Top L-HWs of that period would have too, that's all.

I take a more poised look at fighters careers, by trying to look at all the facts & circumstances surrounding them all. I am not swayed by Hype, Ownership and Corruption won favour or protection. this is how I view Boxing History and Facts about fighters and with everyone.

at any given time in boxing History any number of the TOP 30 Men in any division, given their chance and on their best night could have held a world title, the real exceptions, like a Greb or Louis or Pep or Armstrong or Tyson or Floyd, they are the minority, not the main, and even they have their critics and weaknesses.

for me it's GREATS/Greats/greats with very little between them.

So you're saying that because Zale went the distance with Conn, who wasnt a big puncher ,this proves that Mills v Conn would be a great fight? Also because Mills was beat up by heavyweights this proves something.Just what exactly?Conn beat good heavyweights like Pastor,Barlund,Knox,Savold . Mills couldn't get past the likes of London and Woodcock!
'Im neither silly, nor ducking anything ,Mills and Lesnevich were NOT in Conn's class , Conn is an ATG light heavy, neither of them are even great LHV's and you wont find anybody ,other than yourself, suggesting they were! You have a singular way of looking at boxing and an even more singular way of expressing yourself to others.

I’d like to see the following two fights that could have actually taken place:

Saad Muhammad vs. Galindez: Victor was sneaky good, had power and was a very effective counterpuncher, but Matthew managed to get just about everyone into a brawl ... and Galindez could hold his own in that type of fight. Both had great stamina and heart. I’d love to see ow it would play out.

Saad Muhammad vs. James Scott: Scott, the Rahway NJ prisoner earned a title shot in the ring ... he beat up Eddie Gregory (later Mustafa Muhammad) and Yaqui Lopez when each were rated No. 1, and a host of other good 175-pounders. He was a great body puncher with unparalleled determination and it would have been a war. I understand and can’t really argue with why he never got that shot — you can’t compel a champion to go fight in a prison, there’s no fair way to do purse bids or whatever, and James couldn’t leave to fight him ... and no organization probably wanted a champ who literally by law would have to make each defense literally in his own ‘house.’ But I’d have loved to have seen it.

At any weight there are so many, but I would like to have seen Bob Foster vs Michael Spinks to see who ruled the division All Time, and the winner takes on Gene Tunney.
