    No.

Golota had slipped a lot by the time he faced old Tyson.

More than ten years ago in his fourth outing.

    Sober up, sonny !

He Knocked Mc Dermott down three time before stopping him.

No. He is not without skills etc. Many fans tend to concentrate on the now and forget the past. Lewis, V. Klitschko, W. Klitschko, Holyfield , Moorer and Corrie Sanders. Sanders would have ktfo Fury. That is just a few. Fury is overrated. He shines and has talent and is remarkable in several ways. Not the best though. I would not be surprised if Ruiz ktfo Fury. This best win criteria is a false one. Fighter A could have the "best" win and get ktfo by fighter Z. Fighter Z may be a nothing bum. the performances over distance tell a lot more than a single win. Perhaps the thread should be What heavyweight has the best winning record over the past twenty years?

    Let's see...

Maskaev destroyed Rahman then... Rahman got TKO over Corrie Sanders then Rahman destroyed Lennox Lewis and Corrie Sanders destroyed Waldo Klitschko then Maskaev destroyed Rahman again...

Which began the 10+ years of former Soviet Bloc fighters controlling all the Heavyweight Titles...

When Maskaev destroyed Rahman the second time all the Heavyweight Champions were from former Soviet Bloc Countries... They talk about that often in the HBO broadcast of Maskaev vs Rahman II ...

This also began the Massive Migration of Boxing Fans to the UFC at least in the USA!!!

Because Americans couldn't Win they stopped Watching Heavyweight Boxing but blamed it on it becoming "Boring"!!! lol

He still had good championship bouts with Ruiz and Byrd after that. At the time people thought he should have won both of those.

Little if any evidence that Golota was worse than before.

Those were his best performances bc he practically broke even with prime, rated opponents.

Bowe was massively overrated going into the Golota fights because it was understandably not known how dramatically he had slipped due to TBI and poor conditioning. Byrd and Ruiz would both beat that version of Bowe.

    Thread question:
No he is not! Lewis is (1999-2019).

    About Sanders:

The Sniper was a master in countering fighters that try to chase him down, like Wladi did in their meeting. He beat the crap out of him.
Same with Rahman, Hasim tried to hunt him down and almost lost.

When Sanders fought Vitali, Vitali tried to hunt him down in the first round and was almost on the floor. Later he changed his style more defensiv and Sanders did not deal very good with that.
Vitali is 6 feet 7 and Sanders was unable to hit him very often when Vitali leaned backwards.

Fury is 6 feet 9 and has 85 inch reach (Vitali has 79 inch reach).
Sanders was 6 feet 4 with a 77 inch reach...so Fury is 5 inches taller and has a reach advantage of 8 inches + Fury is not interested in hunting fighters down.

The Fury version that fought Cunningham would get KOed by Sanders for sure, but the 2014-2015 and today s version of him has a very good chance to beat Sanders on points since the sniper never had good stamina.

The 25 years old Sanders from 1991 weighing about 210 lb was an other kind of fish, but we are talking now about the 34-38 years old Sanders that fought Rahman and the Klitschko´s.

Sanders was at his best from 220-230, not 210.

What’s interesting is that nobody (except Vitali) was actually able to outbox Sanders. Fury has a limited offense which would be unlikely to deter Sanders. If Sanders came in prepared to go 12, he could beat Fury on the cards or by stoppage. If he gassed, he’d lose by tko.

I don’t think Fury’s defense is good enough to not get tagged by someone like Sanders.

Drago....good points and true. However, I am putting a lot of emphasis on the hand speed and power of Sander's. Also, he was tough as nails and I don't think Fury could put him away. If Fury were to win, and that is possible, it would be on points. I just think Sanders would get through. I remember when Vitali was stung by Sanders....maybe in the second round. Vitali's comments were very praising of Sanders quick hands. Maybe I am wrong. Unfortunately we will never know.
