I'll favor Jofre. Just a bit more well rounded, skilled, and more clever than Zarate. I think he would have been able to withstand Zarate's power and beat him either inside or outside. Zarate has the edge in power but Jofre has more of everything else.
Zarate was also a bit too basic with his skills while Jofre was very versatile. Jofre had enough power and skills to stop Zarate.

I watched Zarate in his prime and knew people who watched him train live. He hit like a hammer and was also a well rounded boxer. It’s a pickem fight.

I get the feeling that it could well simply boil down to the fact that Jofre was more durable and robust under fire. Not that Zarate was chinny or easy to hurt, mind. Jofre was just extremely tough even up at feather and it's a crucial edge to have in a battle between two skilled big punchers. I don't think Zarate hit harder with single shots than Medel, tbh I think Jofre might actually be the more concussive puncher of the two. He could genuinely ko fighters with one shot with either hand and probably did so more than Zarate despite the latter's freakish (and maybe deceptive) ko percentage. Zarate was more than an attritional puncher but similar to Olivares I don't think he was a genuine one hitter quitter.

I agree that Jofre was the more explosive hitter of the two.

A Jofre ko...he more or less replicates what Gomez did to Zarate....it would take him longer and wouldn't be as wild as Bazooka's conquest.

Yeah, echoing what others are saying. I think Zarate quite possibly has more concussive one punch power but his overall skills aren’t at Jofre’s level and he’s pretty upright and patient which means he would t make Jofre uncomfortable. Jofre could overwhelm him but my guess is that he takes his time and eventually beats up Zarate.

Jofre. Although I could see Zarate taking 1 out of a 3 fight series.
