Lomachenko has been suspended by the California State Athletic Commission according to Boxrec, anyone know the reason for this?
I noticed the same thing with a couple of other top fighters recently. Wouldn't read too much into it.
Lomachenko fractured his hand pummeling the hell out of Anthony Crolla. His suspension was for a hand injury and it's pretty standard for a fighter to be suspended after any injury occurred during a fight. It will be up by the time Lomachenko steps into the ring again.
Means nothing. Boxrec puts up every "suspension" which usually means they just have to sit out a few months after their fight.
I did notice Wilder had a suspension 2 weeks ago, now that cannot be for a medical as his fight lasted 2 minutes. UFC do medical suspensions I've never heard of boxing doing it.
Not a mistake. A lot of commissions hand out automatic suspensions post fight, regardless of the outcome. It's to prevent injuries. A licensed boxer has to pass a medical before any fight. This is likely where the suspension comes into play. They will either reevaluate it or let the fighter sit it out.
I think it's a site issue, Keith Thurman, Khan, Billy Dib, quite a few guys are listed as suspended as well.
Yep most don’t apply for the license in the state of the fight until a week or two before the fight.. So unless they fought in California in the last 3 or 6 months they have to renew the license
