Both brilliant defensively, both multi-weight world champions.

Mayweather is of the top 10 P4P fighters of all time and statistically got hit far less than Whitaker even if you take their stats up until they wee 30, Floyd was far harder to hit and a better counter puncher.

    Mayweather’s resume craps on Whitaker’s.

He's not top-10 all-time and he certainly wasn't "far harder" to hit than Whitaker. I don't think he was far harder to hit than contemporaries like Casamayor and Johnston.

    Hard one to call, though.

I consider them to be more or less equal h2h, but I rank Mayweather higher in terms of career greatness.

    Whitaker.

Only casuals should think of Floyd as greater.

Close h2h, although I would lean toward Sweet Pea. But comparing resumes, Floyd's longevity as a top p#p fighter is imo unequaled. So based upon this, I give Floyd the nod.

Floyd was not far harder to hit ... Don't just spew nonsense .. both were extremely hard to hit is the answer. It's like staying Patterson was way faster than Ali. They were both blazing fast.

If were going on number of victories, of course it should be Mayweather Jr. But! Having a bunch of victories over nobody's or has been's doesn't equate to having a few victories over ATG's or semi ATG'S in the or close too the prime of their careers. When Mayweather Jr career is looked at through scrutinizing eyes it's a lot of fluff. A prime example is his 50th pro fight . Conor McGregor? Really? He actually got credit for that fight. Meanwhile , Whitaker was boxing circles around Mayweather Jr's uncle in his 12th pro fight. By his 20th pro fight Whitaker is in with Ramirez in a fight he won in all eyes but the judges. At a weight well pass his best weight, and well past his prime, in 1997 he gave a PRIME Deloyhoya fits, and some feel defeated Deloyhoya. 10 yrs later in 2007, A well past prime Deloyhoya gave a prime Mayweather jr. A very good fight. Get the picture? To the uneducated and new fans of boxing Mayweather Jr 's record seems the best their ever was. But to us who have loved and watched the sport for DECADES it means very little to be honest.
