So the guy damaged his MCL, ACL, PCL and his meniscus. Wonder if his knee was already slightly injured going into the fight?
And he still won that fight. There's no way Jones won that fight, he lost the first 2 and lost the last. At best, the 2nd round was even and the fight should of been scored a draw. But a Jones win? Come on....
I wondered the same thing. When someone suffers a catastrophic knee injury, like Santos, or Tony Ferguson in 2017, or Jesus Chavez vs. Julio Diaz back in the day, what % of the time is there something already tweaked? I would love to hear the opinion of an expert in sports medicine. I'm guessing there has to be some kind of trauma present, whether its a small tear or just fatigue in the joint or ligament.
Nah it was clearly a close fight that could have gone either way with more damage caused by Jones that will now keep him out of action for at least the next year.
I believe he did have minor surgery before the Jones fight for a pre existing meniscus injury to right knee that he must have reinjured or got worse in the fight that requires further surgery along with the left knee that is also a meniscus injury with ligament damage. Like you said though it be interesting to here from an expert on the matter or even somebody who's had similar injury
There’s 5 rounds in the UFC. Jones didn’t do anything in that fight, lost the first 2 and last round. The other guy messed up his own leg so what damage did Jones do? I simply cannot see how Jones won more than 2 rounds,
I'm pretty sure your in the wrong thread as this thread is about Santos injuries that were inflicted by Jones, there's few other threads you can put **** on Jones? While it wasn't his best performance looks he still ****ed up and put the number 2 guy in the division Santos out till next year, looks like he may not be as good as he was but it has more to do with age imo but I guess we will find out and unless he starts finishing guys again I expect the haters and guys like you to pile on.
Come on man hard to take you seriously with some of this as it was close fight either way your saw it,for starters he DID NOT mess own up both of his legs up at all, while he had minor surgery to his right knee before UFC 239 he sustained MULTIPLE injuries to both legs which most definitely had a lot to do with Jones
I like Jones but he looked very poor and I thought he lost. The rounds were all pretty clear. 1, 2 and 5 to Santos. Strange performance from Jones. Why didn't he leg kick Santos more?
