Has there ever been a fight where you felt worried for one fighter's health before it even started?

Yes Evander vs Tyson and Foreman vs Ali are the 2 most famous high profile examples of people fearing for the eventual winners health. I won money on Evander in both Tyson fights, especially the first..... but my dad said I was too young to go the bookies in 1974 to back Ali...told me to ask my mum. who said 4 year old's aren't allowed in bookies to make bets. Did the whole 'responsible parents' nonsense. Pair of 8a$tards...would have kept me in sweets for weeks that!

I was in the third grade and Paco, a proclaimed Golden Golve boxer, wanted to whoop on me for whatever reason. I really feared for my health in that one.

Khan vs Canelo. Everyone and their mother knew this was a KO waiting to happen. Khan actually did far better than I expected though.

Oh Wilder vs Breazeale.. I wasn't really worried since Breazeale has a big mouth, but I knew this dude was going to get viciously and brutally hurt.

Worried? No. I mean, seriously? I worry about my kids. I worry about my mother. Unless I knew the fighters personally and cared for them why would I worry about their health before the fights even started? I’ve felt genuine concern or worry DURING fights when I’ve seen signs that a guy is off some way or taking serious damage or just laid flat out. Cuz I love the sport and I respect the hell out these guys and becuz I’m a human being who doesn’t like seeing others in serious physical danger. But be honest, who has sat down in front of the tv before a match even started and seriously said or thought “I’m worried about (insert fighter you’ve never had a damn conversation with)’s health in this fight. I’m afraid he’s going to get hurt.” And felt genuine concern for his well being like he was a friend or a relative? They are fighters. It’s what they do. N we are fans, we watch, it’s what we do. Now, having said that, I think under particular circumstances if it was a fighter I was a big fan of and he had a pre-existing issue that made him vulnerable and their was a definitive possibility he could suffer serious trauma, yeah I might actually worry but in that case I think it would be obvious and he wouldn’t be licensed. I can’t think of a time that has happened. I cringed when they licensed Margarito to fight with that zombie eye, felt it was stupid and irresponsible, but I wasn’t “worried.” Anyway, I’m drunk. Carry on.

I don't worry but kind of wonder how bad Runtime's face is going to be re-arranged. Hmm...

Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez. Hell, I genuinely felt uncomfortable and was concerned for Gavril's health as early as the 3rd or 4th round in his rematch with Benavidez and I was convinced that there was absolutely no way he was making it to the final bell in a million years and he deserves a medal for somehow managing to do so. Plant better pray he doesn't last that long though.

Tyson v Holmes. Tyson was slicing through contenders like I’d never seen and Holmes was coming off a 2 year layoff and talked smack in the lead up.

Those guys Gatti beat looked good on paper. They had good records but they were seriously padded. Gatti looked pretty good against them and didn't take too much damage but it was all a facade.
