Eggs are great. Turkey is extremely lean, better for you than beef anyhow.. You want some real quality protein thats cheap, eggs, turkey, tuna are the best cheapest.

You want a good quality beef type protein, your best bet is going to be bison, but you are going to spend loads on that.

Turkey is better given the choice between turkey and corn fed beef.. Turkey vs grass fed beef, turkey is still better! Tuna is good, but shouldn't eat it all the time, two-four cans a week.

T.J. gave some good advice.. You want cheaper optimum 100, you can go to supplementwarehouse.com

I can't believe the perfect balance of sense and idiocy in this thread.

I had a guy who fought some pro fights under me, no real amateur background, just a club fighter living a dream — was realistic enough to know he’d never be a contender, much less a champ, but wanted to give it a try. He worked out for like 6 months before we put him in his first fight with another beginner. I think he went like 5-1 or 6-1, something like that, maybe 7-2.

Anyway, my point is he had a demanding day job (physical labor) and wasn’t exactly rich. This son of a gun decided that for boxing he’d go on basically a heavy diet of canned tuna for protein for lunch and dinner, IIRC he had a couple of eggs for breakfast and some canned veggies to balance it out.

Anyway, he was like a 3 on a scale of 1-10 in skill but about a 9/10 on conditioning. He won most fights by just moving and moving and then at opportune times throwing like 10- and 12-punch flurries. If he got behind he’d wade in and just punch non-stop.

Now I can’t say it was all due to thee tuna, but once he went on that diet I saw a marked increase in strength as well as improving stamina. He’d work out like 3 hours a day.

Anyway, canned tuna is loaded with protein and affordable so that’s a good start IMO.
