Just started sparring and I noticed my head still feels a little dazed a couple of hours after. I am wearing headgear though. Is this something I should be worried about because I do this as a hobby and use my brain to earn a living.

It happens to most guys when they start. remember, it is something new ,something your body is not used to yet. It should pass. But it is a legit concern and makes you realize that taking too many punches to the head is not a good thing. One thing I realized was after getting my ass kicked for years by guys when I first started was that I had to develop better defensive skills so I would get hit less and not take as much punishmant and it worked. I finally realized the sweet science was about hitting and not being hit in return.

its normal, once your body gets used to it, it should not be a problem

You'll get used to it eventually. But always make sure you are well hydrated before showing up to the gym and drink water periodically while you are there.
And work on your defense as well.

I once had a girlfriend who got migraines. She would eat almonds to rid her of the pain.
So, I tried it. I bought a small package of blue diamond smoked almonds.
Before I had finished the pack my headache was gone.

I also met another woman who said she used grape juice.

I’ve started sparring again after a few years off.

I’m noticing it now, when I sparred before I never used to notice it.

I’ve started taking paracetamol after training which usually gets rid of the headache.

Drop the headgear (the purpose is to prevent injuries in skin, not avoiding brain damage). It has shown to increase the risk of brain damage instead of reducing it. And if you are not planning on turning pro go easy with sparring.
