My question is can nordine oubaali rise above number 4 in the bantamweight division, im a fan and think what he did against Warren commands respect, but my question is can he beat Nery, Inoue and Tete, he is not young at 32, so only probably has 2 peak years left and the fact that he is French also counts against his future earning and matchmaking prospects

Personally I think he's the second best in the division, and he'd smoke Nery easily, and destroy Tete. The only guy that can beat him IMO is Inoue. I've been high on Oubaali for quite some time, I'm glad he's living up to the high expectations I placed on him.

Needs to get a move on.

Try to lock down that fight against Inoue as soon as humanely possible.

Ive a feeling Nery will move up to 122 soon.

If he's aligned with PBC, there really isn't much for him at 118(Assuming Inoue signs with TR), but there are plenty of fights up at 122 (Rigo, Brandon Figueroa, Fulton etc)

@CST80 i Dont think he Smokes Nery, i think if Nery stays dedicated he can run that division and that includes Inoue, as no1 has ever seen him taken into deep waters.

    Oubaali would smash Nery.

And I think Oubaali has yet to peak. He hasn't taken any punishment during his pro run and he lacks experience.
He looked a lot smoother against Villanueva than he did just a few years back VS Geraldo.
Oubaali has improved quite a bit and now that hes level of competition has risen, we will see just how good he really can be.

Really Ouballi would smash Nery...... or do you think he would outbox him to a decision

    Smash.
It would be a fun brawl at first, but after the 5th Oubaali would take over and beat him down. Nery is wild, reckless and chinny.
When Nery lets his hands go, it's a thing of beauty. Smooth, powerful combinations that can break anyone down. But!
His game is as one dimensional as it gets. Jab - left hand. Jab - left hand. And the occasional angle change, but then it's only looping shots, meaning he telegraphs those.
Nery's head rarely moves off the center line and when he is in the Philly shell; he mostly just backs up in a straight line, leading the opponents punches to his shoulder.

And even his combos are predictable. Left, right, left, right...

Sorry, I missed this for some reason, sometimes the tags don't work great. Nery is great to watch, an is an all action fighter, but he's just too sloppy and wild IMO to hang with more skilled operators, especially guys with great timing and decent counter punchers, combine that with Oubaali having heavy hands, stylistically it's not a great match up for Nery. I think he'd walk into countless counter lefts and o down, and hard, might get up once or twice, but eventually the ref will have seen enough and wave it off.

His entire existence will not mean anything...until he spends some intimate Ring time...with Inoue

Until then Inoue & only Inoue matters
