At one point during the 90`s I read in my newspaper that Holy put 100 million in his wifes account while he only kept a milion, eventually they divorced.
One of Evander's biggest money drains besides the already mentioned child support, was that he had bought some ridicilously expensive mansion which costs a fortune for the upkeep alone. And he couldn't sell it either because nobody who has the money wants such a ridiculously expensive house.

I read that Holyfield is worth roughly a half-million dollars currently. When you look at how much he had, that's not good. When you look at him today compared to most people living in the world, he's doing just fine. The good news for Evander is that most of his kids are now grown. And he seems to have good relations with them. One of his sons, Elijah Holyfield, who played for Georgia in college, just signed a contract with the Carolina Panthers in the NFL. So, maybe Holyfield's kids will start taking care of him now. Evander always seems to be in a good mood these days. He travels everywhere. He seems to get paid appearance fees. He's doing fine. Holyfield doesn't appear to be a retired fighter anyone is going to have to worry about.
