Has the momentum shifted for UK shows from Sky to BT.

Last night was a good show, enjoyed it. Joyce fight was dull - but on paper a decent fight and another scalp.

 

BT have their own prize fighter in Ultimate Boxxer too, one on this coming Friday in fact. I think BT are doing really well. When they first started getting into boxing it felt like a cheap knock off of Sky, but their production has really improved and the whole thing is a lot slicker.

 

I think this is key. If they can get that tournament up and running properly and get some interest in it then they’ll be flying.

 

Whenever I hear John Rawling commentating it makes me think I'm watching a channel that isn't serious about boxing.

 

Him and Jones both need to go. There's towing the party line then there's outright taking the ****. At one point last night, Rawlings was literally lying before our eyes and saying that Jennings wasn't landing when he snapping Joyce's head back as he was talking. He was arguing with Jones when Barrie DARED give Jennings a round. It was probably the worse case of shilled commentating I've ever seen, and that's saying something.

 

BT should sign up Laura Woods as presenter with Glen McCrory and Big John Fury as the new commentary team.

 

The old guard Sky team would be good, McGuigan and McCrory in particular.

 

If AJ loses the Ruiz rematch it will be pretty disastrous for matchroom and sky.

 

Which IMO is why there won't be one. Said it since the fight night result. I think Eddie will now cash out the next few years safely back in the UK literally against people like Dave Allen and possibly Bellew rather than risk it all in November.
