Finished Volume 1. What a great read. Ochs writes eminently digestible prose, great flow, and very informative. Some amazing photos, too. This is the best boxing book I have read in quite some time. Can't wait to get to the next two volumes.

Go buy a copy of each and support this first rate stuff.

John Ochs' three-volume biography, The One Is Jack Hurley, is the best boxing book that I have ever read. If you want to know about the professional boxing scene in the United States from the 1910s to 1970s, the book can't be equaled. Of course, Hurley was one of the best all-around boxing men ever and a fabulous character.

Volume 1 is now selling on Amazon for $12.59, that is 68% off list. This won't last. I just bought 4 copies because it is way below the printing cost.
