I knew this because Leonard was too well prepared, and would never get caught coming straight into a 1 - 2. Terry Norris on the other hand, had a much more versatile offense with many more avenues of attack open to him. and then Leonard had to deal with the added problem of Terry's instant speed of delivery Likewise, I predicted a one sided blowout for Terry. Outside of the nuclear powered fists of Julian Jackson... How does anyone deal with speed like that?
That version of Leonard stops prime Norris by the mid rounds. Of course he'd have come in a few points heavier. That was prime Leonard, not the vastly degraded version that fought Norris 9.5 years later. Also, Hearns had a varied attack and he had very fast hands. He also had tremendous physical advantages that Norris wouldn't have. Hearns didn't just have a good jab and straight right. He could move and box and had a great body attack. His left hook to the body was awesome.
Also, your obsession with Norris is cringe worthy. I knew even though the thread title had nothing to do with Norris, you'd bring him in to it. LOL.
how do you arrive at leonard stopping Terry mid rounds when it took him 11 for Bonds, a passive impotent barely passing boxer who showed leonard movement but with a non existent offense? Kevin Howard, another nine! Hearns' big weapon was the right cross whereas Terry's weapon the hook, was able to catch Leonard - so fast, that he never had time to brace for it not to mention Terry's right upperct Terry just had the answer for everything! just face reality; leonard would lose and badly
How do you deal with an opponent who can deliver blows such as this with the speed of thought? This content is protected
in order to keep him from going into another fit of autistic rage... Terry Norris w ko 3 over sugar ray robinson ..don't hit me
you are right about this you can only fight whats there ..i would have loved to see norris in different eras his style could translate well
