Who does what better? Who has the edge where?

    Spence:
    - Jab. One of the best jabs in boxing, a piston which helped break down Brook and Garcia.
    - Power. Both have good pop, but Spence is heavier handed. Look at the clean stoppage of Algieri (Pacquiao failed to stop him).
    - Size & Strength. Spence is simply the bigger and stronger man here. Crawford is strong himself but Spence is the naturally bigger guy and has already been able to bully big and strong welterweights.
    - Stamina and pace. Spence sets a higher pace than Crawford and is capable of throwing a lot more punches per round, applying a high tempo on his opponent.
    - Body work. Spence has some of the nastiest body punches in boxing today. Crawford too is good downstairs but Spence seems more consistent.

    Crawford:
    - Defence. Crawford slips punches, bends at the waist more and better than Errol. Spence is more straight up in his guard and defence.
    - Footwork. Crawford is a lot more fleet footed and moves around the ring a lot better. Where as Spence seems to be more in and out and less lateral in movement. Look at his fight with Postol.
    - Ring IQ. Crawford can box Orthodox and Southpaw equally well, and has shown better ability to set traps than Errol. An example is when he switched Southpaw and caught Gamboa at will with his right hook.
    - Counter punching. Crawford 'sees' punches coming at him a bit better. He has good eyes. He already had Khan timed in round one of their fight. Errol on the other hand seemed to be getting countered himself more so than the opposite vs Brook. A result of him liking to set the pace.

    Toss ups:
    - Speed. Both seem equally fast to me, I may edge Crawford slightly judging on how well he kept up with Khan.
    - Heart and toughness. Both are dogs who will grit it out when the going gets tough.

Spence to me is a pressure fighter at heart, a Marvin Hagler. Yes he can box very well, but he's a Margarito in Mayweather's clothing. He likes to set the pace and go to the body.
Crawford will try and box him on the outside, but he can also fight it out and dig deep when Errol puts it on him.

Great fight but I favour Crawford slightly. I think they share a lot of traits and there's a lot of attribute cross overs, but one is more 'pure boxing' inclined and the other is more of a 'fighter'.

A close fight that goes the distance but I think Crawford would edge it. I also love the switching between South paw and orthodox it pays absolute dividens for him. He utilised it quite well against Benavidez Jr.

Spence has power and is naturally bigger but Crawfords never gone down? So that would be a surprise. Both are fantastic body punchers and will try to wear each other down.

Great analysis Sir. You definitely know your. Very little to quibble about in in your analysis. I would add the following points on ring IQ I think they are the same and the fact Crawford is a switch hitter does not necessarily mean a great or greater ring IQ. I agree with you that Spence is a pressure fighter at heart and the comparison to Marvelous Marvin Hagler is correct. However I take issue with the point you make about a Margarito in Mayweather clothing. He is a real technical good boxer puncher more like a Duran in Mayweather clothing. What I see in Crawford is Sugar Ray Leonard. In Spence I see a combination of the mind set mentality of Hagler, the body punching ability of Mike McCallum and the poise and skills of Don Curry at his best. If pushed I would have to go for Spence to win though I think Crawford is a natural mean SOB in the ring.

Spence and Crawford are similarly sized. At 140, Crawford rehydrated 18 pounds to 158. At 147, Crawford may very well be in the 160s.

Crawford beats the flat footed Spence, UD win for Crawford, Spence is nothing special, beating a lightweight champion in Garcia does not make you great.

His only decent win was vs Brook and that was a drained Brook after GGG took his soul already lol

There's nothing Crawford doesn't do better.

Spence is a bit taller, possibly a bit longer. His jab could pay dividends early. Benavidez's only success was pumping the jab at Crawford.

But a jab alone does not win a fight.

Fighting a chubby, blown up Mexican and not being able to physically hurt him or KO him was disappointing. Anyone with half a brain knew he would utterly dominate that fight (still shocked by those on this board adamant that Garcia could win o_O), but it mattered how he won the fight.

Crawford takes Mikey's soul for eternity.

    Crawford 116-112 Spence.

Crawford takes Spence to boxing school for 12 rounds.

    10-2 ish for Crawford.

Spence might have little more power, that’s about it.

Id give power and jab to crawford. He also has the abiliy to counter with every punch in the book and knock you out.
