Whyte had better grease up and spread and sign up for the AJ vs Ruiz Jr winner, because there is no way he is getting a WBC shot this century!

This is the big thing for me. You can’t talk about other opponents, his only focus should be the one on Saturday. He should be obsessed with him, how he moves, the patterns of how he throws his shots etc not talking about everyone else. It will only give more fuel to Rivas’s belief he’s just regarded as a stepping stone by Whyte.

Whyte knows full well who Rivas is and what he brings to the table, so Whyte will take him seriously...he ain't AJ.

Rivas can take pictures of Whyte's interim WBC belt in the meantime

Oscar Rivas is only #10 with the WBC rankings, so why is he in an eliminator to be mandatory and interim belt holder ??
    How does that work ?

WBC guidelines stipulate that anyone from the top 15 has a chance, but Rivas was #6 till VERY recently, cough.

Is he the longest running interim champion in history? No pun intended.

Listened/watched a number of interviews with him. He was asked if he’d studied Rivas, he replied that he hadn’t and that he just concentrates on improving himself, (which is good in a sense). He can reel off Rivas’s fight record and say he’s dangerous but then he spends the rest of the air time criticising Wilder, Fury etc and how hard done by he is.

It’s getting boring, mate. I’ve been singing Whyte’s praises these past few months but he’s chipped away at that with the hard done by, act. He’s getting another ppv payday fighting an opponent who’s unknown to the casual audience. He should be grateful for his opportunities in which he’s had a few.

He’s dug deep and found a way to win against Parker & Chisora 2 (he was losing on cards in that one) which shows his will to win, but Rivas also pulled it out the bag against Jennings, whom we all saw was a tough nut to crack against Joyce. So Rivas has also demonstrated that he should not be overlooked and that he too can weather the storm and find a way to win.

Who will be Whyte’s mandatory for the interim title if he wins? First defense after winning a vacant belt is a mandatory, right?

There is no guarantee his next fight with AJ will be for a belt.
