What a load of horse****. If RJJ wanted to fight Calzaghe, he could have, RJJ had all the negotiating power in the world at his peak and chose not to.
Really? So he can force Calzaghe to accecpt a fight with him? Roy had much bigger fish to fry when he was the P4P king at Light Heavyweight. For example, he held almost every single belt you could possibly hold at that weight except the WBO belt, which is a gimmick. He actually cleaned out the division instead of holding on to a lame WBO belt for 10 years.
I got Roy Jones pulling this fight off. Calzaghe didn't really impress me like that against Hopkins. Back then it would have been and easy victory for Roy. The little bit Roy has left in the tank I believe is enough to beat Calzaghe now.
It's just a fun thought...but in a Hollywood like scenario, B-Hop would train RJJ to help him beat Calslappy in the last fight of his ATG career !
Because in his prime, Calzaghe was a nobody fighting in the UK. He didn't get his big break out fight until 2006, 2 years after Roy lost to Tarver.
Wouldn't want to see anything more than that and in brutal fashion but it won't happen. Even if Roy was 10% of what he once was Calzaghe would develop an injury and fight Ashira in a rematch as his last journey among the endless tomato cans he signed to fight.
