I think they dont want it to get lost in the Manny/Thurman build up. Id expect an announcement soon after the fight though.
Both side has gone on to stay it's a done deal. They just don't have a date yet. Spence said some time in September. I think they will officially announce it after the Pac vs Thurman fight. They want that fight to continue to get all of it's press before annoucing Spence vs Porter in my opinion.
It should probably be announced this weekend given the amount of publicity that the Pacman-Thurman fight will garner. I believe Porter made mention about 2 weeks ago that the fight is already signed and should be taking place in October.
I wont lose any sleep over it. Porter is boring and is just another opponent for Spence. Time for Spence to face a real threat already.
They are waiting (Pedding while waiting) for the winner in Pacman vs ThurBoy (Pacman wins of course) to see if they could get Pacman as he's the draw - more money.
