Exactly. If Price has a strong jab, I may favor him to land a missile on Allen. His jab is crap and Allen showed enough head movement in the Browne fight to make me believe he can get inside and do damage. Allen also seems to be in the best shape he’s been in so that’s also a good sign. Price has to be shot confidence wise after his last fight.
This. If it were Price from a few years back... no contest. The guy who we are seeing now though is a pale shadow of that fighter.
Price is more scared of losing than he is excited at winning. Allen will catch him around the 5th as Price inevitably slows down and gasses. Seen the gassing too many times now for anything to be different, stamina wise. I would liked to have seen this weekend Allen v Szpilka although Del v Szpilka should be a tear up, these two know no other way really.
I like Dave Allen and hope he does well out of boxing but I went to the public workout yesterday and there was just something about his demeanour that worries me coming into this fight. Watched a few youtube interviews last night too and felt the same , I know he's a bit of a fool and likes to joke around but he seems very complacent and happy with what he's got so far , he really isn't very good (probably why a lot of people take to him) but the way he's talking and acting you'd think he's nailed on to win Saturday, he's not imo and I see the value in Price here. I could be completely wrong but i'll have a few quid on Price because of that , either way i'll be happy as I do want Allen to win.
I am torn between wanting Price to win because he's a good bloke and wanting him to stop because he's a good bloke. Although much the same could be argued for his opponent... Anyway, I've gone with Allen KO once he gets through the dangerous part, which is becoming a shorter period with each successive Price appearance...
It was interesting listening to Price on the IFL interview yesterday. He now accepts that he’s around domestic level but that he believes he’s very good at this level. I tend to agree. People still clinging to the Kash Ali performance...he put him down, but he desperately dragged Price down with him. He was on the verge of getting stopped. The biting was because he couldn’t live with Price. Little was a premature stoppage but that was only going one way, too, as he was on bambi legs. Allen might have demonstrated a great chin in the past but wait till Price chins him.
I picked Price by KO at the start, but I've been swaying back and forth, I think the only thing I'm sure of is, it isn't going the distance. Allen has got a bit of momentum, is in the best shape of his life, and is the fresher of the two and can see why a lot of people think he wins it. On the other hand, I think because he's so hittable, Price will get the chance to land clean early, just like Lucas Browne did and can put him away if he lets his hands go. Sticking with a big KO from the big truck David Price. Wish he would turn all angry into roadman Pricey again from the Kash Ali press conference. He needs to find that in the ring this time.
As bad as I think Allen probably is (even in his current shape), I don't really know how Price wins this. Allen has a good chin and I can't see him getting KO'ed early and Price will gas as he always does. I've absolutely no doubt he was ready to go in the Kash Ali fight and that was only March. Allen is only too aware of this and will take no risks earlier and come on late.
I’ve said Price all along and have gone fairly big at the bookies on him (within my limits) Questioning it the closer I get. But I’m sticking with The Plumber
We're gonna see the old Price, before the Thompson fight. A fearless plumber warrior who went for the KO, and wasn't scared of getting knocked out himself.
