Depends how you look at it.

If you itemise all fifty fights of Floyd's career and look at them individually and in isolation, devoid of any context, then Duran is probably the favourite in all of them and it's very conceivable he'd have amassed a 50-0 record as well. Especially if you're imagining a peak Duran in all circumstances.

On the other hand, some might factor in Duran's tendency to get lethargic and complacent post-Montreal, and suggest that if he could drop a lazy decision to someone like Liang, it stands to reason that eventually he'd have done likewise against a couple of the guys on Floyd's record. Similarly, you could look at Mayweather's victories over Canelo and Pacquiao and see room for doubt. Let me be clear - a peak, in-form Duran beats a 2013 version of Canelo and a 2015 version (or any version as far as I'm concerned) of Pacquiao. But Floyd was 36 and 38 respectively for those fights; Duran was looking washed up and putting in dour losing performances against the likes of Sims, an over-the-hill Leonard and Lawlor at a similar age. So does a 36 / 38 year old Duran beat those guys as Floyd did? Questionable. But of course Duran at that age had fought a hell of a lot more fights than Mayweather, so that muddies the waters even more.

I guess it's all a bit pointless speculating in that regard. Duran possibly scaled single heights which Mayweather never did or could, but at the same time had some ignominious lows which Mayweather was too good to allow to happen to him. Obviously the two guys were polar opposites in how they went about their careers so it comes down to personal preference.

I’d bet against him pulling it off. Too undisciplined and inconsistent, especially in the later part of his career.

Canelo would beat 36 year old Duran.
Pacquiao would beat 38 year old Duran, boiled down to 147.
He also managed to lose to Kirkland Lainge and Robbie Sims, who were worse than the vast majority, if not all, of the guys Floyd fought in his thirties.

Uh, Try Canelo with a 32 year old Duran who slaughtered Moore, put Manny in with a 29 year old 147 Duran, you get a massacre , .Why would you compare Duran to these guys at 36 and 38 years of age ?

He lost to worse guys than Floyd fought, very unlikely to go 50-0

How do you compare? Duran would do well and Floyd would do well. The question is how would they do when they fight that top level which puts them over the greatness level. Both guys were dominant in their own way.

Can't see it happening. But he is greater and better than each of them. A focused Duran went 31-0 and 40 or so fights between his first and second losses. 72-1 is an extremely impressive peak run but I think Floyd faced more quality in his 49 than Duran did in his 73 prior to 'No Mas'.
He could do it, but i don't think he would.

Because Floyd was 36 and 38 when he schooled them, smart guy.

Over half of Duran's 72 wins were against trash. Not even fringe contenders.

Do you believe shot Pac would beat shot Duran? Really?

Don't tell me please that Pac was close to prime, he wasn't. And 38 y.o. Duran beat Barkley. I can't imagine that Duran making 147 lbs though.

Please inform me of a pfp number 2 in the sport who was "shot" and beat another pfp fighter a year later?

Re: your second point. That is my point.
