Everytime I meet a boxing fan I wanna hear who their favorite fighters are...list as many as you like
Jimmy Young, then so many others, Vilimar Fernandez, Sanchez, yaqui lopez, and most any defensive master
Bob Fitzsimmons Archie Moore Max Baer George Foreman Joe Louis Sam Langford This are probably my 6 favorite fighters.
Sort of by weight class: Marciano Frazier Foreman Marvin Johnson Saad Michael Spinks Hagler Paul Fuji Saensak Muangsurin Mamby Billy Costello Duran Arguello Boza Edwards Little Red Jofre Zarate Chandler Khaosai Galaxy Canto Jung Koo Chang lots of others I'm forgetting at the moment
Disclaimer...Mines changes like the wind blows!! Holyfield- who doesn't admire a solid boxer who gets easily goaded into a slugfest? Pacman, Bowe, Emanuel Augustus, Hopkins Henry Armstrong, love the nonstop whirlwind fighter black n white footage and all. Dude threw punches nonstop as well as Aaron Pryor.
Sugar Ray Robinson, Joe Louis, Jose Napoles, Pernell Whittaker are the ones I've enjoyed studying and watching most. Kid Gavilan too. Currently I do like Terrence Crawford and hopefully we get to see him against Errol Spence and Keith Thurman at some point.
My ten: Arguello, Duran, Fenech, Galindez, Harold Johnson, Marquez, Napoles, Sanchez, Toney, Whitaker. Just in terms of who I've most enjoyed watching and feel a certain fondness for which you can't always put your finger on. Ten near misses would look something like: Gatti, Harada, Benny Leonard, Louis, McCallum, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, Azumah Nelson, Qawi, Saldivar, Winstone. The likes of Bruno, Hamed etc. are more sentimental childhood favourites. First loves, if you like.
