Pac's still active. His resume is gonna age like a fine wine. In 2080, boxing will still be looking for another 8 division champ.
His resume will definitely age very well. I just don't think that he has a case for #2 even as time goes by. Perhaps overtime, depending how much more he achieves after Thurman, he can make a case for Top 12 but that's if he grabs another career defining win IMO.
lol and there has been zero evidence to link Pac but you accuse him constantly. Marquez bulging and ripped at 40yrs old....when he was never bulging and ripped as a 25yr old 118lber is amazing. He suddenly picked up acne on his shoulders and back?? Ha! Oh, and turned into a devastating power puncher. I'm not just talking about Pac 4....he punched holes through and destroyed mike alvardo like i've never seen.
Big Duran fan here, not much of a fan of Pacquiao because he beat up my favourite fighters(lol) and I strongly suspect he did so on PEDs. But since it can't be proven definitely, you have to take his resumee at face value. And if he beats Thurman then he is above Duran as much as I hate to say it. The Thurman win would be as good if not better than the Barkley win. PAC doesn't have the Leonard win or the hagler performance, but the Cotto win beats the Moore win. Hatton and Bradleyx3 are equal or better than Palomino win. Morales X2 Barrera X2 and the Marquez fights are equal or better than Buchanan and Dejesus. PAC also has alot of quality wins sprinkled in between with more consistency than Duran who had some embarrassing moments
Ugh. I hate comparing Duran to Pac because Duran is one of my most favorite fighters of all time. But I will say this, if Pac beats Thurman, I'd give him the slight edge over Duran in the P4P all time rankings. No way Pac will rank above SRL though. Unless maybe he fights and defeats Spence?
There is no pound for pound best overall fighter. Anybody who says Ali was even the best heavyweight of all time is a clueless fan. You don't lose the same person 3 times like Ali lost to Norton ( Ali himself has said he knew he lost to Ken Norton all three times and he could never beat him). The best heavyweight of all time wouldn't almost get knocked out by 1 punch by 190 pound cruiser weights like Henry Cooper. The best heavyweight of all time wouldn't struggled in their primes to guys like 180 pound Doug Jones. Anyway in terms of overall skills Manny Pac isn't even a top 50. Manny Pac was on steroids for a huge part of his career. Are we going to praise PED cheats now? If so I don't see anybody praise Jarrell Miller. Most of Manny Pac's best wins came against guys who were already beaten easily by other opponents. In terms of skills and what they did in the ring. Pernell Whitaker, Floyd Mayweather, Tommy Hearns, Roy Jones Jr, ect are way better than Ali or Manny Pac.
You cant compare them, it comes down to your personal preference really, Pac's in that league whether you like it or not though
In fairness, most fans do not even consider 1900-1950 because they simply do not have the historical knowledge.
