The one thing about boxing, though, is no other sport hypes an athlete more. A few highlight film KOs and people go crazy over the fighter. What most of the casuals fail to understand is this almost always happens against mundane fighters. When competition is stepped up the KOs go down significantly typically. The special fighter is able to KO the top tier fighters and we know who those fighters are. Very few.

He doesn’t have to be. His ring iq and timing are beyond the level Lopez is at. Nicolas Walters 73” reach didn’t stop him from quitting against Loma.

I have long predicted that Lopez would win this fight by stoppage. But I guess I was wrong. As you can see, he didn't win it confidently.

Nakatani is a good boxer but definitely is not a top level one. He is just somone who is little better than Tatli. He couldn't even stop a crap boxer like Ricky Sismundo and struggle to beat Yoshitaka Kato. Two boxers who were destroyed by Daud Yordan.

So, not really a big win for Lopez.

The way I see a Loma-Fimo fight is Loma is the much more accurate fighter while Fimo is the more powerful fighter. If Loma got sloppy or complacent he could get caught since he is no spring chicken anymore. But you have to give Loma's IQ, movement, accuracy and overall experience the odds over Fimo. Loma has never looked as average as Fimo looked tonight.

Definitely agree. If he slips up and gets caught like he did against Linares, he would fare much worse.

Might want to consider just how early those wins were for Nakatani...and Kato and Sismundo are both tough guys, Kato was stopped once in 40 bouts and Sismundo 5 times in 53

May the Dadashev bout be a reminder that all you folks out there who have ever berated, and many of you do it time and time again, a boxer for "quitting" in a match ARE COMPLETE INEPT P.O.S!

Probably because the ring doctors were a little busy. Obviously. You come off like an ******* for even saying that.

its actually an example of a fighter with no quit. you can imagine what his body and mind was going through at that time, yet he refused to lay it down. lots of fighters out there are brave, but they aint no dadashev.

His hooks were really wide and he conceded his reach advantage too much. He looked better when he used feints. There's plenty of room for improvement for him and plenty to work with for his trainers. He could double his jab more often. Not saying he'll even be a world beater but all of these things can be realistically improved. I hope to see him fight again.
