Of course, first and foremost I really do wish Dadashev a speedy and successful recovery. I was just wondering what people's opinions were on whether he will be able to fight again or not. From my understanding once fighters go into some form of coma they will never box again but I'm pretty sure Dadashev didn't go into a coma, although it's been mentioned that he will undergo some form of surgery. Will he ever be able to box again guys?

No, a subdural hematoma is a very serious injury, next to an intracranial hematoma, it's probably the most dangerous kind of brain bleed. He will be very lucky if he comes through this at all. There's a very, and I mean very real possibility he will die. What I saw tonight was terrible, and scary, because for him to go downhill that quickly, then pass out in the ambulance, means that the bleed was getting more and more severe by the minute. That would imply the bleed was incredibly serious and filling up the skull quickly, and when that happens, the brain is crushed against the wall of the skull from the pressure on the inside, it's like filling a drum with water until it's at maximum capacity, then forcing a few gallons more until it explodes. Sadly, blood is incapable of cracking a skull internally and letting the blood run out, so there's nowhere for it to go, so it compacts the brain until all oxygen is cut off, and the brain dies. Which is why they had to remove a portion of the skull. It's absolutely gruesome to think about.

So send Maxim as many prayers as you can if you believe in that sort of thing, because he'll need all of them that he can get. I hope they were able to save him in time, hopefully the side effects are minor, like with Stevenson, but the speed in which he fell apart, I fear for the worst. But no he will never be allowed to fight ever again, and quite frankly who cares, that's completely insignificant at this point. Him surviving and living a long and healthy life with his loved ones is all that matters. And I hope from the bottom of my heart he can make it through this.

if i was the rican kid, i would be in pieces and probably at that hospital. its one thing to kill in a war, quite another in sport.
God, bless the hands working on that young man, that he may recover to live a long and fruitful life, Amen.

No question that his days as a fighter are over.

Career ending injury, he'd be lucky if he can live a normal life after this, altough Joe Mesi was able to fully recover and even tried a comeback, but I don't think his injuries were as bad.

Here's hoping he can make a good recovery and go on to live a normal life. Thoughts are with him today. Too tough for his own good to withstand a beating a like that. Horrible to see the state he was in after the fight. I hate this side of boxing.

Hopefully he recovers from this, and can talk and walk and retain all his functions.
Fighting shouldn't even be in the conversation.

I feel for Matias in this, too. Here this kid gets a career defining win that earns him a world title shot, and he finds out pretty much immediately how horrible a turn things took for Dadashev. That's a big weight to bear at what should've been one of the happiest moments of his life. I hope and pray things turn out alright for all parties involved
