funny how everyone said they would give him props for facing and beating Ortiz.I know I did as regardless of age Ortiz was highly rated, was a risk and nearly beat Wilder himself.
I've never been sold on Ortiz myself but I know loads who were before Wilder beat him, funny that.
Rivas is no way on a level with Ortiz imo albeit he's a risky opponent.

thought it was a draw?not a bad decision, given Fury being dropped twice, served him right for showboating.

    Ortiz, obviously.

If Wilder fought Rivas, we would read nonstop how he's the next resident of "bum city" for the lot of you.

    No one.

    Rivas would beat current Ortiz.

Ortiz was great fighter, it's a shame he only really became known to the masses after the wilder fight because by then he was way past his best.

Ortiz was much better and he was also the most avoided fighter in HW when Wilder decided to fight him.

Kinda like how wilder beat a bunch of bums before fighting anyone decent, but you surly can’t argue he is in the top couple of heavy weights now? Does it really matter how you got there if you get there?

Eric Molina, Aurthur Szpilka, Johan Duhuapas, Chris Arreola, Bermaine Stiverne, and Gerald Washington. Not gonna lie, I don't understand all the Oscar Rivas hype, and to be fair to Wilder, most of his opposition has been Rivas level. Rivas vs Jennings was dead even going into the last round, he was arguably behind before swinging away and catching a tired Jennings. Other than that, he hasn't fought anyone. He couldn't stop Maldonado or Hubeaux, he ain't gonna do jack to Whyte and Whyte will bust him up badly. Solid amatuer, but amatuers is very different from pros. Rivas is about the level of a typical Wilder opponent. Solid fringe contender/gatekeeper, but a lamb to the slaughter for a guy like Whyte.

Ortiz is the best boxer ever....he's so good he doesn't even need to beat anyone of note to be top 4 for years! Amazing career.

He chased AJ into offering him $8M! Then Haymon made sure his 'bogeyman' reputation remained intact before his sacrifice to Wilder. If you buy into the Ortiz myth you simply dksab.

It's not a given that Rivas would beat Malik Scott.
