You get checked up by the doctors before every fight so he’s an absolute idiot and a danger to himself if he isn’t reporting these to his doctor/manager/trainer/promoter! Or if he has reported them then these need holding accountable. Keep him as far away from a ring as possible. Put him on strictly come dancing or something.
That video is a cry for help. He’s a circus act who’s a danger to himself. He knows himself that he won’t turn down the paydays so has came out in hope someone will force his hand. The BBBoC need to revoke his license.
For me the Yoka fight is the scariest to look back on. On paper it wouldn’t sound fair to say that an Olympic champion NOVICE PRO was a step too far for a journeyman like Allen, but beyond the bare facts it was. A guy who doesn’t train properly against an absolutely fantastic athlete and elite boxing prospect. The Povetkin thing is just baffling. There would have been safer careful picks for him to box at the “world level”.
It’s easier said than done. I’d confidently predict there’s more fighters than just Dave Allen who don’t report worrying symptoms. I’d imagine it’s especially harder for Someone like Allen who is now bringing in life changing purses and regularly fighting on PPV’s. Look at Nick Blackwell decision to spar for example.
I’ve been saying for 18 months that the Dave Allen story has tragedy stamped all over it and that’s not some macabre wishful thinking. Like @Scissors said, keep him as far away from a ring as possible now. Enjoy your money son and be sensible
