I do not think highly of Floyd. I think I can, and remember boxing has been around a long time. Top 50 fighters is a great place to be.

The question is who had the better legacy and not who is the better fighter. Paquiao has greater legacy while Floyd’s the better fighter.

Listen Pacman even getting in with Thurman at 40 is damn impressive. To win is stuff of legends. Thurman is no slouch. He was the best welterweight 2 years ago. I would put him a notch under Spence and Crawford now, I think the 2 years out really zapped his momentum and desire. But he was no washed up fighter going in there, maybe a notch or two below where he was.

This win to me combined with the Broner win at 40 forgives the Mayweather loss to me. Floyd wouldn't be caught dead in the ring with Thurman, Spence or Crawford pass 40. Plus like it or not Manny did have a bum shoulder vs Floyd, unless he faked a surgery which would really be something. Also it's not like Floyd just took him to the shed in beating him. Yea Floyd beat him but it wasn't some drumming or schooling.

This is not taking anything away from Floyd. Had a great career. It's more of what Manny continues to build. I think the last two fights put him right on par with Floyd again. That's special stuff at 40. The Canelo win for Floyd still puts him maybe a notch above anything Manny has done and is looking better and better as time goes by (incredibly smart move by Floyd, drained him and he was young as hell.). But I tell you what if Manny gets in the ring with Spence next MAJOR props. If he beats prime Spence at 41. I think it eclipses Floyd's career and the Canelo win.

Because I think Spence would give prime Floyd and Manny both trouble much least 40 year old versions. Spence is one of the most brutal body punchers I've ever seen and prime Floyd and Manny were impossible to hit. But Spence would have a chance because he would concentrate on the body. Plus he is damn near a middle weight really, he is a huge WW.

    That's my perspective anyways.

Floyd was NOT the better fighter. yes he may have been blessed with amazing God Given boxing talents which could have made him better
but Floyd lacked the cojones needed. Floyd plain and simply cannot FIGHT!! He will always have that Diva stigma haunting him
Manny leaves Floyd in his dust

Was it Vegas corruption that gave Pac-Man the win over Thurman, or was it legit?

Come on man, be fair. Of course Floyd can fight. And what about that cojones BS? Given the men he has shared the ring with, he must have a lot. Actually, I believe most pro boxers do.
I pick Manny on this topic because Floyd chose his opponents in a smarter way but thus has avoided dangerous fights that could have been made. But he is still ATG no matter what. Excellent defense, techniques, counters and chin altogether, how could he not be?

An OLDER Floyd was 38+ when he beat Pac. So to those diminishing Floyd again because Pac at 40 beat some guy whose best win was Porter or Garcia should stop. Never considered Thurman an elite.

Here's something to think about, at 38 Pac lost to Horn. I attributed that to Pac aging althought it was a questionable loss.

But Floyd did NOT LEGITIMATELY beat Pac. That debacle with IV Gate proved what everyone suspected Floyd was juicing. At the very least an HONEST State Commission would have changed that result to a N/C. Floyd should have been investigated & BANNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Pac >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> FlIVD

Both guys are elite but I lean towards PAC and until he drags a MMA fighter without a single pro boxing fight into the ring I stand by PAC.

Hitting 50 and 0 was so important to Floyd and to me it’s like FK ing a fat homeless lady just to hit 100 lays on your bucket list.

Not dismissing all the greatness of Floyd as his resume is stacked and stacked well plus he changes the sport and became the highest paid athlete in the world.

Both are HOF in my view but one has that tainted 50/0 record.
