I know Wilder has Ortiz next. Which is a very good fight but he should get by. If AJ loses to Ruiz again, which is very possible after the first fight, I think Wilder and his management delay the Fury fight for late 2020 early 2021. And I don't think Fury or Top Rank would mind. I think Ruiz vs Wilder for undisputed moves into that March spot that Fury vs Wilder was slated. PBC will want to keep all the belts and revenue in their hands for at least one more fight. That fight will do big biz if Ruiz beats AJ again. Then Wilder would have to fight Whyte for his mandatory. Then they would move onto Fury for undisputed. Plus I don't think Top Rank would mind. Give them a couple more fights to squeeze out of Fury and an undisputed HW fight Fury vs Wilder would make even more money on ESPN. But if AJ beats Ruiz ignore all this lol
I stopped reading at "I know Wilder has Ortiz next. Which is a very good fight but he should get by."
They’ll make an exception for unification. And Usyk could use a couple fights to settle in at heavy and he’d be better off fighting for a unified title than claiming something for fighting a nobody for a WBO belt. Maybe Wilder or Ruiz could gift him the IBO to make Eddie happy.
Usyk has yet to fight anybody at heavyweight as a professional. The fact that has a mandatory shot at the title shows how big of a joke boxing has become.
Uysk hasn't even had a fight at HW yet boys. He isn't jumping directly in the deep end. Well here is the thing. If Fury vs Wilder is for the Undisputed HW Championship and Lineal HW title while both are undefeated coming off a disputed 1st fight that ended in a draw. That adds like 50 million more to the fight to me. It is an historically significant fight. And th HW Division is like 130 years old if not older. Like one of the most important fights in history. That's why Wilder and AJ screwed up waiting. Them being undefeated with 60 combined KOs for all the belts would have been just as historically as important (minus the lineal status). I mean seriously. Name 5 HW fights with more historical importance than two undefeated HWs for Undisputed/lineal hw Championship? I am talking pre fight importance, not after the fact results. Then you can throw in tons of Ali's and Joe Louis so on and so on. Ali-Frazier I. Liston had a loss going into Ali. Tyson and Lewis each had losses. I'd have to dig a lot deeper in history.
Foreman vs Frazier. Both were undefeated. Holyfield vs Bowe. I believe they both were undefeated. Tyson Fury is a club fighter. Deontay Wilder is even worse. Tyson Fury is undefeated because he hasn't fought anybody besides 40 year old Wladimir Klitschko and he ran from him and only landed 86 punches in 12 rounds . Wilder's best win is against Luis Ortiz. A guy so old that he is older than God.
