Britain loves a comedy character, price has made me laugh so much that i can't dislike the big pudding.
Quality boxer with excellent amateur pedigree who should have gone on to challenge for world titles. However, up until recently he’s been unable to manage his anxiety meaning he’s mentally folded and ended up gassing very quickly as a result in fights. It’s nothing to do with fitness. There’s a blend of extreme vulnerability mixed in with devastating punch power, and that’s very entertaining. He’s also an everyman, very relatable and he genuinely would fight absolutely anyone. He’s also a local lad and I’ll always shout for him.
Price is in some entertaining scraps. Tbh I wonder why people like Allen, he's thick, doesn't even have comedy value and his fighting style is as boring as they come. If I was Price id try get Thompson 3 and really rid myself of the mental demons lol, or get retired.
He's in exciting fights. I remember when he was coming up and looked like a savage until the Tony Thompson fights, his knock out reel in the run up to then is epic.
People love watching price because he’s a ticking time bomb, he hits like a sledgehammer but also has a terrible chin. Usually always in fights with twists and turns I’m not keen seeing him getting sparked like he did against Povetkin and that kebab seller looking guy ‘oh dear oh dear’ Plenty of fights for price to have on the British and euro scene, price vs dimitreko or h fury are also fine
I'd honestly like to see Price have another go at (the now drug-free) Teper, and another go-round with Hammer. I reckon he'd absolutely paste Teper if they ever rematched.
He’s sound and had bad luck. People being the fickle snidey ****s that they are turned on him. The same fellas who’d have let him smash their birds in front of them in 2012, had started laughing at him by 2014. Even in his own city he was ridiculed as you can hear by his interview about the school kids. He’s had issues with his stamina but keeps trying and the history of his amateur pedigree and car crash of pro career has got him some decent opportunities lately. So what? I don’t see what there is to dislike so much.
How can anyone not like Pricey? - A down to earth plumber - Tremendous boxing ability - The power to knock anyone out - 100% dedication to the sport - A glass chin - No stamina - A sad, what might have been story I don't see any reason to not like the chap. I like him and feel sorry for him at the same time because of his flaws. Chap could've went far only for said flaws. It's a real pity he can't hold a shot better or fight at a high intensity beyond six rounds. As well as being liked, he gets the sympathy vote.
Price has clawed back some credibility from the earlier losses, not a massive amount but enough to make him a legit fringe contender.
