Very sad. When a boxer already has bad concussion symptoms immediately after a concussion, it can only get worse as the brain swells. Dadashev looked very physically weak during the fight. It's been stated he was dehydrated which definitely made his brain vulnerable. Medical science around brain trauma is completely horrible. There have been lots of studies on certain natural substances showing beneficial effects on TBI. However because it's not a drug the strategy is "wait and see".
Another member of our boxing family loses his life tragically RIP Maxim a true warrior sincere condolences to his wife & family. Spare a thought too for his opponent just imagine how he is feeling today. Something needs to be done but I have no idea what
To reflect the views of many, I am gutted to read this. We know that this is a dangerous sport, but we hope not to see things get anywhere this far. This feels like a thread which needs to be bumped whenever someone is pulled out of a fight and people start throwing words like "quitter" around, or when Wilder next claims he wants a body on his record. RIP Maxim.
Do better how? Dadashev was still functioning up until that final round beating. He hadn't taken an abnormally high amount of head shots in the fight, although the body shots that he took were cringe worthy. He was hurt bad to the head in that last round, and Buddy stopped it. A few trainers may have stopped it during that round, but none would have stopped it prior to that round. And a few would have let it continue. No two guys take punches the same. It's a guessing game. We've seen plenty of guys look just as bad or worse but finish a fight. Maybe one day they will have some type of instant brainscan ringside that checks a fighters brain after each round.
Well, somebody that has made a ton of money off this sport (Al Haymon, Bob Arum, etc) investing some of that money into R&D for something just like that ...would be an example of "doing better".
RIP aside from that, all I want to say is I don’t like the rush to judgement and blame that always happens in these circumstances. There is rarely a black and white distinction between fights that end like this and fights that end in a run of the mill manner.

The instant brainscan is coming no time soon. I suggest automated afferent pupil testing. The equipment exists already. Someone needs to suggest this to the athletic commissions. It's strange how it's never been used in combat sports to date. At most, it would cost a low five figure amount.
Devastating news rip, it just makes you realise how much fighters put on the line every time they step in the ring. Brutal and heartbreaking
