Miguel Cotto fought everyone in their prime and he was clean the entire time. He deserves more!

Cotto was awesome **** the haters, fought everyone and was never in a boring fight, the only disaponment was against Trout that was a fat unmotivated with no trainer Cotto. People that said He quit against Margarito check Dadasiev fight, Cotto was getting trashed and beat down and His body give up. People that said He quit are the one that wants Him to get killed and need to go to jail for assholes and criminals.

    Never could take to him.

Decent fighter but never understood why he had such a high profile.

I'd say he was "Mikkel Kessler level" could beat anyone below elite level but nobody above it, gatekeeper to the elite if you will.

    Edit

Mind you he did lose to a couple below elite level, maybe I need to downgrade him to Tim Bradley level

To be honest ive seen very little disrespect of Cotto here. For the most part hes one of the least criticized fighters that get discussed here. I think Cotto is a blue collar guy who wasnt spectacular but was a solid hall of fame level fighter.

Agreed but guys give him crap for taking a knee from Margarito and folding to prime Pacquiao. The Margarito thing is questionable but prime Pac-Man was kicking everybody's ass except for Marquez. JMM wasn't having that.

Well none of them were in the ring taking a beating. Pac as you said was a buzz saw when he fought Cotto and honestly i was surprised the fight went that long and the Margo fight was just getting dangerous. He took a heck of a beating.

    This..
I don't want to call him a good on top fighter because he was more than that, but if people want to really scrutinise, then for a true elite fighter there was the nagging feeling he could be broken, not ko'd just put in his place. The Margo scandal pissed me off too, it was quite obvious both at their best that Margo was his Daddy, all tarnished by bull****

one thing id stake the house on, Cotto wasn't strong enough or tough enough at 140 for prime Hatton. Vulnerable at the weight, going in against a rough tough relentless prime Hatton, hed wilt and quit with the Hatton Tsyzu fought and after...Much better suited Cotto was not cutting to140 and moving to 147, where he wasn't as weak

he had longevity going for him at the top, picking off better fighters that were on the downward slope imo

On a side note regarding Cotto, has anybody listened to his interviews from the past year or so? His speech is starting to deteriorate a little. It's beginning to sound slurry.

He took serious punishment over the course of his career. It's not terribly surprising.

He actually was my favorite boxer until he turned full diva. The last years of his career really made me turn on him.
