But when Miller got popped, he was withdrawn from the fight and the findings made public beforehand. Whereas Whyte apparently failed a drugs test, the results were hushed up and Rivas was allowed to step in the ring with a boxer that Matchroom, UKAD and the BBBoC all knew was likely juiced. Hardly comparable....
Let's wait and see the findings I highly doubt the bbboc would allow Whyte to fight with PED in his system
But they did let him fight... and he failed the test. Hearn had the chance to say the story was false in his Tweet last night. But all he said was the BBBoC (and UKAD) allowed the fight to take place in a very carefully-worded sentence. Had the story been false, Hearn would have said very clearly that the information was incorrect (he would know either way) and he'd have filed a law suit quicker than a Pacman combo. You know Whyte left the arena without speaking to the press? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/b...victory.html?ito=email_share_article-masthead "Across the corridor, the awaiting media stayed patient until word reached us that Whyte had left the arena altogether. It seemed he was in no mood for hanging around." Odd story all-round especially the headline and intro....
That would be down to the differences in authority would it not. Would need to see what the NY athletic commission say.
Also if you read up, you will realise that UKAD and the BBBoC are unable to intervene until due process is complete, including the testing of the B sample and any further appeal. They were powerless to stop the fight, even if they wanted to because of their own protocol. The only people who could have stopped the fight were Matchroom, Whyte or Rivas but it seems no one thought it a good idea to tell the boxer who was about to share the ring with Whyte that his drug test had thrown up an adverse finding....
The first story was actually broken by ESPN. This is why I say their is no way a fighter can cheat and somehow it gets swept under the carpet. Someone will talk to the press.
Yes, and in the case of Whyte that is likely the case. There is no way Matchroom would have gone forward with this fight if they thought the failed test would come out as quickly as it did post-fight. The Fury investigation took a long time before it was made public and years before it was concluded and you wonder if Matchroom hoped this case would follow the same time frame. Someone seems to have decided it won't....
I`m 100% sure it wan`t face account. Atleast i open the account and it was WBC account all the way. Now the tweet is deleted. I should have make screenshots tho, but i didn`t guess that they will delete the msg.
Someone put it up on here. I saw it. Was about 10 mins after the news broke on here I think. Edit.. Page 1 of the Whyte failed test thread on the British Forum if that's the one you are talking about. Still there.
That account has 19 followers and was opened in February 2019. I suspect a legit Twitter account of the WBC would have a few more than 19 followers and been active more than six months.... Copied below is the real WBC account followed by the fake one https://twitter.com/WBCBoxing https://twitter.com/wbc_boxing
This is ****ed up. The same weekend where we lost a great young warrior for taking too much punishment, we find out that another fighter was put in the ring with a guy who tested positive for an illegal substance. Whether It was just trace amounts, whether It had no effect on Whyte's performance, Rivas should've been made aware and given the choice to walk away. And what's worse is, going through the thread, I see people choosing to use this as an excuse to **** on Wilder instead of adressing how ****ed up the situation is. Unbelievable.
