Vitali had the best anticipation of a big man I have ever seen. With his reflexes and his 6'8 frame, his leaning back defense would have frustrated the hell out of George. Because Vitali looked awkward, many of his opponents thought they would easily land punches on him and found out it was really difficult to do. Besides, I don't believe that the prime George was mentally well equipped to deal with a fighter he could not simply walk over. Someone who is taller and lean at 245 with a great chin, punching consistently with power from all angles would have been a stylistic nightmare for George. The only edge he might have is one - punch power, not enough to beat someone with Vitali's chin.
50-50 A lot depends on how VK's body holds-up during the fight. But, I can definitely see him winning by stoppage or decision.
Seems to me that some people just can't separate a H2H matchup from career accomplishments. Vitali's injury - prone body prevented him from attaining greatness, still he had the tools to beat several ATG's who will forever be rated above him in accomplishment.
I bet on Klit. Respect to George, but Vitali is like a science experiment to **** Foreman up with styles. * He's bigger than Foreman, and not by just a little bit. This is an entirely new and off-putting experience for George. * He fights tall. You run into Foreman's punches, he ****s you up. Vitali won't do this. He leans back, Foreman's going to have to reach for him. * Foreman throws wide, clumsy punches. Vitali throws straight, accurate counterpunches, and his handspeed is markedly better. * Vitali is technically sound, and has the ring intelligence to stick to a gameplan. More so than young Foreman did. * Foreman can't push and bully Vitali around the ring like he's used to. Lewis couldn't do it, and if Vitali wants to hold his ground, Foreman's not going to shift him back. * Vitali won't get knocked out by a couple of bombs. His chin is granite. * Vitali is tougher than most boxers, and has more will to fight. He won't be intimidated by Foreman. More than that, Vitali has a bit of mongrel in him. It wouldn't surprise me if Vitali scared the **** out of George. Foreman admitted that he was scared of Frazier during the pre-fight staredown. Vitali would be something George had never had to face before, and I think that Foreman would crack. I don't think there's a worse ATG matchup for Foreman, Ali not included. :hat
Most people are assuming that a "prime" Forman was the earlier version. I disagree. The older Forman that was more measured in his offense would be a greater challenge to Vitali than the earlier version that was more busy but less effective. The early Forman gets countered & outpointed or stopped late by Vitali. The later Forman that won the title with a perfect short 1-2 KO of Michael Moorer has a far better chance since he reserved his power later into fights and that 1-2 probably coul've KO'd just about anybody. More like a 50/50 fight.
Vitali would punish Foreman and stop him in the final stages of the fight. Vitali threw short, powerful, straight punches whereas Foreman threw wide hooking bombs, as George is smaller than Klit, he would have to get inside to land and more often than not get eaten by jabs and straight rights. Foreman's only other option would be to bully his way inside but Vitali is too smart and strong to allow that to happen consistently. Foreman lands a few bombs but doesn't stop Vitali and is eventually worn down by Klit's offence.
I don't know. It would be an intersting fight. Prime Foreman would beat anyone in the last 20 years except for Lewis, Vitaly and Tyson. Those fights would be quite open. He would probably beat Holyfield easier than he would Wlad just because of styles but I think he would beat both.
Vitali or any other brother of his doesn't even belong in the same ring as George Foreman or any other legitimate all time great Heavyweight.
Quitali couldn't beat an old, undertrained, inactive for a year Lummox Lewis, or a feather-fisted slapper in Christina Tyrd, but surely he would dominate George Foreman.
Foreman KO 4-tO MUCH POWER!!! Lewis stopped Vitali and chopped his face off and didn't even hit as hard as Foreman:roll: better have an Ambulance close by VK would need it after this fight...
