Is he annoying anyone else? before Joshua fight he seemed a likable man, after it he seems a pain in the arse with his demands etc. you got lucky to get the fight, honour contract bring your big arse to the UK and be quiet.
I don't really follow the pantomime around where the fight happens, either the promoters sort it or their lawyers will. Some or all of the chat is likely trying to build the fight. Put some needle in it, there wasn't any for the first and mutual respect doesn't attract the casual audience that generates the big bucks. I'm happy for him. He should enjoy this moment. A guy who took a lot of stick for his appearance* had a questionable decision against him in the Parker fight, wasn't given much respect in the build up to the AJ fight and now he's got the belts and wants some respect. Fact is he performed on the biggest night of his careeer and he made history. *fat wee mess?
1) I didn't start that thread 2) Acutely aware you don't post in that thread because your reading credentials are dubious.
No not really. Seems very likeable, just rightly sceptical of coming to the UK with every possible advantage weighted in Joshua's favour. Can't blame him for that, why would he want to give any advantage to Joshua?
We don't know what was in that contract though, we don't know whether the location for the rematch was stipulated. If it was, you'd think it would all be sorted by now.
He’s entitled to express a preference for a venue seeing that he’s unified, heavyweight champion of the world. I don’t think he’s acting out of order at all. In fact, he’s been very respectful, hasn’t trash talked anyone. Strikes me as a decent lad.
Ruiz is the champ, and in the absence of any contract holding him to the contrary, he should be the one calling the shots. If I was in his position I would much prefer to fight in the US rather than the UK, for a variety of reasons that I'm sure everyone can work out.
