Floyd really was not at his prime at 147. I'd say he's a 60/40 favorite against Crawford and a 40/60 underdog against Spence, at best.
I disagree. His first fight was against Gatti at WW, in which he was in prime form. After he beat Gatti, he fought Mitchell then Judah in which he was still prime at that time.
3/4ish, he'd probably cause a few issues for Floyd with his size and speed, but tbh I think he's overrated. He's a great talent but I think he'd be seen as tier below the Elites of Floyd and Manny's era. Mayweather would figure him out pretty early on (5ish) and would then take it from there. He'd probably edge 1 or 2 of the early rounds as well, so 116-112 Floyd His style matches better with Floyd than Manny, who dominates him and beats him down badly before he KOes him.
Floyd maybe whitewashes him. It’s a boxing match and Floyd is hard to outbox. But his reach may trouble Floyd for sure.
But Brook is a bigger man than Floyd, and that was Spence fighting in Europe and *still* getting a dominant stoppage. I think Mayweather would have issues against big, elite 147s who would not respect his power, which was absent as he moved up in weight. To be clear, I agree he's a much slicker boxer and thus I'd install him as only a 40/60 underdog, but Spence has excellent stamina. He threw more than 100 punches per round in rounds 8-12 against Garcia, and I think that kind of pressure would give him an edge over the more economical, relatively light-hitting Mayweather. But we'll never know. Wish the timing had worked out!
He legitimately lost at least four rounds against an aged ODLH. The reality is that he didn't face big, elite WWs, because none existed at that time. Not his fault, of course. I do think the Canelo victory is aging extremely well, albeit a green Canelo at that time.
