    Assuming Marciano survives 4 rounds.

This. Tyson didn’t have the inside game to keep Marciano from tearing him apart on the inside. Tyson would put up a good fight in the early rounds, but Marciano would eventually neutralize Tyson’s preferred midrange and force Tyson to fight on the inside, which is a place Tyson was never comfortable at and stop Tyson in the later rounds.

Marciano may well catch up with him late on.

What part of ‘Marciano was a LHW’ do people not understand. There’s nobody that size in history that could put a dent in Tyson, Rocky gets smoked inside 3 rounds.

Because Marciano wasn’t a light heavyweight. He was a heavyweight as both an amateur and Professional and fought against heavyweights of all sizes throughout his career. Marciano against heavier opponents that could use their weight against him Marciano came in at 190+ against guys like Keene Simmons, Shkor, Big Bill Wilson, etc..., but came in closer to 185 for lighter more mobile fighters like Charles, Walcott, and Moore, etc...

Hmmm if you asked me in the late eighties I would of said that Tyson would smoke Rock in a couple of rnds easy but now I'm not so sure .despite what people say Tyson was not 5"11 no where near im 6ft and when I met he was way shorter than me 5ft 9 " tops .Heavier yes but does that grantee victory in boxing ? .Rocky was a nutter Tyson wouldn't worry him in the slightest an earlier stoppage is possible for mike possibly on cuts but the longer the fight go's the worse it would be for Tyson. The nearest comparison I can make is the Holyfeld Tyson 1 .Tyson in with a fighter doesn't fear him buts him! Elbows him! throwing a continuous stream of hard shots without tiring working away in close rnd after rnd .We know Rock would not stop or slow down and absolutely would not show any pity.Tyson was a bully an on top fighter he didn't do to well against fighters who didn't fear him .Would of been a hell of a fight.

I meant in the modern era, there’s no way a guy Marcianos size would be competing at HW, or most likely even CW. He fought a few guys over 200lbs, with the only noteworthy name being an old, shot Louis.

I can't reconcile the people who say Rocky can give away 40 lbs and beat Tyson with the people who say Ali would have no chance against the modern superheavyweights like wlad or Joshua, when he would only be giving away 20 -25 lbs!

(That's before we even mention Rockys skills deficit with respect to Tyson versus Ali's skills advantages v Wlad, Joshua etc)!!
    Crazy, crazy double standards folks!

That was old Joe Louis at the very end of his career. Old, worn Louis and prime Tyson are two very different beasts.
