If you read Quick Tillis' book, Beau Williford (ex-fighter and trainer/manager) stands out as a cretin and deserves a special place in Dante's bottom floor. Luis Resto, of course. Maybe Frankie DePaula, but if we just sorta guess at what he did as a Wise Guy/headbuster. Michael Dokes didn't exactly clothe himself in dignity the last ten years before his death either.
And what about Evander Holyfield, constantly preached about God, but I think he took the Bible's "be fruitful and multiply" a little too seriously>
I respect this forum alot more for not mentioning Sonny on this subject goes to show we all grasp his tragic position. "Joe Louis was his hero he wanted to be the same but a criminal child wears a ball and chain"
Ron Lyle was jailed for murder before he took up boxing and charged and acquitted for another one after he retired. Jesse James Hughes spent his down time beating up and ripping off drug dealers until his seediness caught up to him, as it inevitably had to. Billy Papke murdered his ex-wife before committing suicide but was probably suffering CTE which while not an excuse is certainly a mitigation.
Most people probably don't remember Steve Hearon, a fairly good fighter and a terrible person: https://www.upi.com/Archives/1987/0...arged-with-the-robbery-murders/3847545371200/
Someone once said in boxing you will meet the best and worst people in the world. With a sport being so brual, politically corrupt yet it can also earn a respect like few others.
Wesley Tripplet, a 2-1 pro I used to spar with. He loved to beat on amateurs. He's in prison right now for 30+ years for beating his son with an extension cord. That was just one of them too, he has 4 others, so there's no telling what he did to them. He had some arrests previously for domestic violence and punching a doctor in a game of pick up basketball too.
Robinson already mentioned beat his wife. Ray Leonard did the same to Juanita during the 80s when he got into Cocaine and Alcohal. If he changed over the years which may be the case then I would retract him from the list of bad guys
